Aldair, Master of Ships,
By not4prophet (North Carolina) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Aldair Master of Ships (Paperback)
Picking up right where Aldair in Albion (Aldair) left off, "Aldair, Master of Ships" finds our motley crew sailing south from Europe in an attempt to escape the chaos, and to further explore the mystery of their own existence. The list of characters will be familiar, with the pig-like Aldair in the lead, and a crew of bears and wolves following behind. A captured cat princess also plays a role in this outing, and several others will join the fun as the novel progresses.
I can only classify this as light, breezy reading, probably the best in the series but still not all that great. There is plenty of fighting as usual, along with bizarre landscapes and startling discoveries. Barrett also throws in a few dashes of humor, particularly as regards a cowardly elephant who jumps on board (literally) halfway through. |
