Simply Beautiful !, February 24, 2011
I've owned this CD for a number of years now, and I never tire of it. I remember hearing Alegria on a jazz station while driving to work one morning. I knew instantly I had to have it. Back then MP3's were not available yet and I had to buy the entire CD. I don't regret it , each track is unique and beautiful. I highly recommend it.

Loved the show, Love the music, February 25, 2011
OMG!!! I've known about Cirque Du Soleil but never had the chance to see it until my mother bought me tickets to see Alegria when it came to town and I am so grateful she did. The show was amazing I couldn't leave without buying the dvd and I have watched it everynight since. The music is perfert it's my favorite mix and style, it's one of those cd's that you can listen to over and over again and never get tired of it. The music is powerful and really lets you escape into that world. There isn't a bad thing to say about Cirque Du Soleil!!!!I'm hooked...

Amazing Cirque soundtrack, October 21, 2010
This review is from: Alegria + Manipulation & Flying Man (Audio CD)
traditional to new age, Alegria injects drama and passion into every note.
Alegria was composed by Rene Dupere, who has written other Cirque scores. Each song carries the beauty and drama of the world of Alegria, where the old and the new collide in a castle inhabited by strange creatures. The music is led by soprano Francesca Gagnon, arguably the most talented Cirque singer ever, whose vocal acrobatics never cease to astound with their range, passion and drive to make listeners feel genuine joy. Songs are sung in the signature "Cirquish" as well as Spanish, English and other romance languages with a heavy emphasis on a European flair. Accordion is also really heavy on the soundtrack (which I'm surprised I like so much) along with violin and keyboards.
CD highlights include the acrobatic-feeling "Irna," the dramatic "Icare" and of course, the title song "Alegria," which features English lyrics and always manages to fill me with joy, passion and contentment. While the music was composed in the early 90s, it still stands up to modern sounds while still lending a traditional, but not antiquated, European flavor that reminds listeners of old monarchies and new beginnings.
Easily one of the strongest entries into the Cirque library, Alegria overflows with passion, drama, joy and human redemption. If you only buy one Cirque CD, I suggest you buy this one.
