I had been trying to think of a tool I could use to clean around the house and maybe use for other things as well. I wanted a cart that looked like this but was not cheesy and rickety the way a lot wheeling carts are ... unless they are very expensive. This Alera cart is excellent. It's easy to assemble, sturdy, attractive, doesn't wobble, rolls very smoothly, I could go on and on. When I clean a room and there are a lot of items that, perhaps, belong in a different room (books, clothing, odds and ends), I don't want to pile those things up in the hallway or run around to different rooms. With this cart, I can put the items on the shelves and move them when I go on to the next room. I can also put folded laundry on it and distribute things to the rooms they go to without a lot of extra trips and laundry baskets.

There are two Alera carts for sale on Amazon. This is the smaller one. Really, the larger one would not have been too large at all for home use. The small one is fine, though. It can be pushed against the wall when not in use and used as a plant display. You could also serve large food dishes to a party with it. The wheels don't stick or skid, and it makes no noise.

It weighs about 24 pounds and was easy for one person to carry upstairs.

It's an attractive color, takes on either a silver or gold tone, depending on the lighting. It looks very durable.

At a great price.

I am disabled and need a walker to walk about my house. I live alone and it's difficult to get things like laundry, groceries, etc. from room to room. This fits the bill PERFECTLY!!! It makes all the difference in the world. Thanks to the person who suggested installing the top shelf a little lower so you can hang things off of the supporting legs. I've already used this feature and see me doing things like that all the time. And thanks to the people who answered my questions and to all the people who posted reviews. All very helpful! I wasn't able to put it together but not because it was difficult. Just difficult for ME with my challenges. However, a woman with arthritic thumbs was able to assemble it in about 10 or 15 minutes, and the instructions seemed easy for her to follow. I ordered it last Friday and it arrived Monday. Sooner than expected. Love that Amazon Prime!

I received this cart well packaged, with all the parts. The instructions were numbered and easy to understand with diagrams. I put this cart together in 20 minutes, with no tools, as it says in the product details. It went together smoothly and the final product is VERY sturdy (supposedly holds up to 500 lbs, and I think it just might, but I did not test it.)

I liked that is has little raised guards on the two shelves. I added a rubber lining to the shelves, so that nothing would fall through. The basket is a mesh pattern and I did not need to line it, because the holes are small enough already. The wheels worked, the casters were not cheap looking, they seemed solid. There are brakes you can lock in place on the two back wheels, to keep the cart in place, Front wheels have no brakes.

This will not push easily on plush or shag carpet. It worked fine on cement, linoleum, and low pile carpet for me. It is quite heavy. I recommend assembling it in the room you are keeping it in, so you do not have to haul it up stairs or through doors.

The Black Anthracite color is not black, nor is it stainless steel, but a dark steel mottled color like gunmetal.

Size is misleading shelves are actually 14" x 24" with a 4" handle added making it a total of 28".
Size shown on the box show as 16" deep the only way to get that number would be to measure
at casters with both pointing out.
Color is also listed as black but is a gray and black hammer tone.

Super solid, super convenient, very flexible shelving options, and fantastic mottled style paint looks great and will not pit or discolor like chrome. We're so happy to use this in our kitchen to organize the 'lunch box' station with various bags, snacks, water bottles, etc. and also our reusable shopping bags now have somewhere to be stored (but be visible) when they are in the house. We decided not to use the handle bar as we're not going to be moving it around much. We also installed the top shelf slightly lower so that each of the four supporting 'legs' stick out about 2 inches. We hang things on these, including a fabric bag that holds plastic grocery bags (when we forget our reusable bags!) that we then use for cat litter duty.

This cart is very easy to assemble, but you will need a flat surface to assemble it - about 5 minutes. Follow the instructions to make the process easy. The final "snugging " of the shelves onto the mounting legs needs a few light taps at each corner. Use a piece of wood to avoid marring the chrome finish on the shelves. One tap at a time at each corner to firmly seat the shelves into place on the tapered plastic inserts. Don't do this tapping on a hardwood floor - concrete floor is best. The cart rolls around very easily and parks extremely well because of the 4 swiveling caster wheels. The shelves are rugged and have sides to keep stuff from falling off when moving the cart . Count your " notches" from the bottom before putting on the upper two shelves. If you get a shelf "cockeyed" and tap it into place- it is hard to get the shelf off to realign it- DO THIS FOR SURE.
I use this cart for my 90 lb vacuum sealer and keep all my sealer bags and stuff I need for vacuum sealing on the shelves .
My wife easily moves it from a cramped corner in our laundry room to the kitchen with ease. It is very rugged after assembly.

I have the same larger (4 ft wide by 6 ft high) version of this shelf in my garage. some shelves have over 250 lbs on them.
