I purchased this shredder (not from Amazon) specifically for destroying DVD media, which it excels at. It goes through about 50 discs in 2 minutes. I put about 400 discs through it so far, and it only jammed on me once. I also tried some paper...this model requires you to fold the sheets in half, and you pretty much have to fold an 8.5 x 11 inch sheet of paper exactly in half, or it won't fit through the slot. I ended up folding my paper lengthwise.

Amazon's product information for this model (240130) is partially incorrect. The machine says it can shred 5 sheets of folded paper at a time, not 15. The basket is only one piece as far as I can tell, and it definitely does not hold 4 gallons of material...maybe 1/2 gallon. About 40 discs will fill it up.

This product works as advertised. Great for shredding CDs and DVDs. I have shredded quite a few discs and the unit has worked flawlessly.

This product was so very easy to use and incredibly fast. It easily shreds CD, DVD's and old credit cards. It is also a nice compact size. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a dependable and fast shredder.
