Until I installed this retractable extention cord I had to deal with a cord hanging over my work bench. With this product just a little tug and the cord is out of the way, no tangles and its long enough to reach every part of my 20'x 20" shop. Installation was a breeze, I used the celing mount but would work great as a wall mount too!

Pretty sweet piece of kit. Suspends from the ceiling well, the rectracting assembly works well. Some people may complain that it is only 16 gauge, but it works well for quick jobs in a workshop.

This is a great cord reel! Very easy to use. Sets easily. No unexpected wind-ups. It retracts with authority with a tug of the cord. Built well. Love it!

I received this as a gift, because I added it to my wishlist. About the same time, I purchased an almost equivalent version from Home Depot, but with larger wire. This is 16/3 and the one I have is 14/3 or 12/3. This one works well and my other one doesn't. The HD version's wire gauge is large enough that it won't retract fully, unless you wind it PERFECTLY. I have to "coax" it in for the last 2 feet on a good day and pull it back out an rewind it atleast once when is starts sticking with 7+ feet out. This version retracts fully, with no fuss. I'm really happy with the performance.

I've used this extension extension cord in my barn daily for the past 3 years before the cord started to wear out. Then I noticed it was rated for indoor use only (my barn temperatures range from 10-90 degrees) so I'm thinking it surpassed it's expected lifespan. The retracting mechanism worked well until this past winter when temps were in the teens, then it would retract with the last 1-2 feet dangling. It was fine when the weather warmed. I'm very pleased with this product and hope to find a replacement with an outdoor rating.

I move a Lincoln 140C (120v) MIG welder around the garage and I picked this up to power it and some other tools. I would go for a larger reel if you're looking to run anything heavy like a welder, power saw, air compressor etc. It's made for things like spot lights and corded drills, smaller motors. I can weld at lower voltage using this but nothing thicker than 18ga or it trips the breaker.

Good reel otherwise but four (****) stars for not supporting larger tools.

Simple review for a simple product -- it's just a good cord reel.
Triple head is nice, circuit breaker is nice.
Mounting is easy, and hardware is included for both ceiling and wall mounting.
Smooth feeding out and reeling in of cord.

I purchased this product to have more accesibility to electrical sources while I am tinkering in my garage. It does exactly that. The only thing I am disappointed on, I seem to get it to stay stored in one position. I set the stop so it will be easier to retrieve when I need it and within a couple days the cord is reeled up completely again. Not to say my kids aren't playing with it.

The stampings are very nice, but the internal attachment point for the large rewind spring was broken, allowing the spring to slip with a loud braaaap noise. The cord wouldn't retract at all.

The reel has a lifetime warranty, though, so hopefully a return will be easy.

I would have given this reel five stars except for the functional defect.
