I've had an alesis 3630 compressor/limiter for a few years, and I'll probably buy another. I've used it mostly to limit input to digital recording, and it works, runs, doesn't do weird stuff, and sounds good. I left it out of service for at least a few years and then turned it on within the last month, and it seems to work as well as ever. Maybe my standard for audio equipment is a little low, but for $100, it looks pretty good.
