I'm pretty new to the electronic drum world, so when I purchased my Alesis DM6 kit I was left wanting a bit more from the included 12" DMPAD cymbals. So I found a great deal on this ride, which I liked since it was bigger than my current cymbals and provided me with a drumming experience more akin to my acoustic set.

Now, if you're familiar with the DM6 kit, you'd know that it isn't really meant for expansion. So I had to get a bit creative in getting this cymbal to work. In that regard, unless you like tinkering around a bit, I can't recommend this for a DM6 since it's not exactly plug and play.

Also, my current use scenario does not allow me to accurately comment on the three-zone capabilities of this product.

Overall, I am very happy with this cymbal. It's build quality is great and is on par with the other Alesis products that I've purchased.

I purchased this Cymbal Alesis DMPad 14" Ride with a
1/4 Inch to Dual Mono 1/4 Inch cable for my Roland SPD-30 Octapad.
Construction quality is very solid! Very nice protective sleeve for the cymbal stem.
It works just fine with a little adjustment on the sensitivity and thresh hold. It has a little more surface noise than my Roland CY12R/C-C V-Cymbal 12" Crash/Ride and the bell to bow or edge isolation is not as good as the Roland, but at 180.00 USD less than the Roland it was perfect for what I needed. I am very happy with this product. I wouldn't really call this a 3 zone cymbal, more like a 2 zone. Just for the price to performance and quality ratio it gets five stars in my book!

I chose three stars for the lack a proper picture of the product. The product I received deferred from the original picture in the posting or advertisement. It lacked the grooves and matte finish shown in the picture. However, since I was aiming for a low price for the DMPad it made the appearance of the DMPad irrelevant to me. The product works. The real product (I received) has no grooves and has a glossy finish. If you want an authentic DMPad I guess you'll have to expect to pay around $135 to $155 to obtain the quality of an original looking Alesis 16" DMPad cymbal. Also I searched for an Alesis 14" DMPad and could not find that they make that size of cymbal anymore, thus all I found were Alesis 16" DMPads. In conclusion, I kept the DMPad cymbal and it works for me, because my previous DMPad cymbal broke.

This is the second one I have ordered from this company for my husband's Alesis Drum set he keeps adding on to it. I was impressed at the speed of delivery and the quality. I was also very surprised with this one since it came with the cable and hardware. I had to purchase them for the last one I bought.

Good, consistent triggering and solid construction. No issues with this trigger after 2 years of near daily playing.
Take care of your gear and it will take care of you. Using it with a Roland TD-9.
