It's annoying when masters like Corelli and Marcello get tags like "competent." When J.S. Bach studies your work for ideas, "competent" doesn't do you justice. This is a great collection, without a clunker in the bunch. Imaginative, consistent and tastefully done, this is a nice introduction to Alessandro Marcello. You could do a lot worse.

There is nothing like getting up in the morning and listening to an album like this. It is regal, majestic, tremendous amount of energy and joy. There are parts of it which are peaceful, and meditative, but still joyful. And the variety is exciting. There is nothing you will not like.
