Alessi Timer
Excellent product. Price very reasonable in comparison to price here in Australia. Would buy item again if needs be.

Made in China...
I wanted a timer that - for environmental reasons - did not use batteries, AND...that was made by a company that has NOT outsourced their manufacturing. I thought when I ordered this Alessi timer that I had found one. I was wrong. Alessi has moved their manufacturing to China. UPDATE: I returned the Alessi timer and I've ordered and received a Kuchenprofi...

I wanted a timer that - for environmental reasons - did not use batteries, AND...that was made by a company that has NOT outsourced their manufacturing. I thought when I ordered this Alessi timer that I had found one. I was wrong. Alessi has moved their manufacturing to China.
UPDATE: I returned the Alessi timer and I've ordered and received a Kuchenprofi timer, which IS made in Germany and seems to be a very, very high quality timer.

It doesn't ring when it reaches zero, it ticks obnoxiously loud, and it's made of cheap plastic. Definitely not worth the price. Worthless, in fact.

I am sick of the poor workmanship in timers. I have tried out six of them since the one I had for 20 years broke! Now I am just going to sit and watch the pot boil and time it by the clock because none of the new timers work -- probably because they are made in CHINA!
