5.0 out of 5 stars Great activity for all ages!
I bought one of these for myself (just for fun) but the two wheels were quickly taken over by my 6 and 9 year old kids. There is only one set of four motions required to make all the brackets (the pattern is set by the initial ordering of the threads, and the wheels are color-coded to help you set up 4 different, very cute patterns: hearts, flowers, diamonds, and a four...

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun for a lazy afternoon
We bought this kit for some summer fun. It was difficult to follow the directions (even my older teens had trouble - the bracelets do not come out like the patterns show) and it made pretty chunky bracelets. Also, if you make the floss lengths as directed, the bracelets are pretty short (will fit younger kids better) - they won't stay on the "loom" long enough to make...

I bought one of these for myself (just for fun) but the two wheels were quickly taken over by my 6 and 9 year old kids. There is only one set of four motions required to make all the brackets (the pattern is set by the initial ordering of the threads, and the wheels are color-coded to help you set up 4 different, very cute patterns: hearts, flowers, diamonds, and a four color barber-pole stripe) With a little tutoring even my 6-year old was able to produce bracelets as long as I was there to provide the occasional reminder. The bracelets take a while to produce so the child you purchase this for should have a good attention span, but the end product is very nice. I'm buying one for my little girl's friend. I hope she likes it as well as my kids do. Now I just need to get another for me!

This wheel is incredible. The first night my daughter got the wheel, she had a new friendship bracelet surrounded in hearts within hours. It seems like magic how something so simple as moving a string from the top to the bottom, turning, and doing it again can produce beautifully stiched and intricately detailed friendship bracelets. My nine-year old told me she thought it was relaxing, and I agreed so much that I came back and bought another set for myself and several of my co-workers! It's fun and amazing all at the same time, for young kids through grown-up kids.

There is a professional instructional video on YouTube ([...]) that shows you step-by-step instructions and tips on using these wheels. A lot of reviews say that the instruction manual is confusing so I hope some of you find this video helpful. My 9 yr old and I have so much fun making these bracelets. It's very relaxing...I can sit and do them while watching TV. We found a pattern maker online and that has been a lot of fun to make up our own patterns. This is well worth the money!!

We bought this kit for some summer fun. It was difficult to follow the directions (even my older teens had trouble - the bracelets do not come out like the patterns show) and it made pretty chunky bracelets. Also, if you make the floss lengths as directed, the bracelets are pretty short (will fit younger kids better) - they won't stay on the "loom" long enough to make them longer. Also, the loom isn't very sturdy and would bend and the slots got frayed after a few bracelets. My kids would have liked to make some skinnier styles but the kit only came with 4 wide patterns. It takes a lot of floss to make a bracelet so plan on buying extra floss if you want to make more than 4-5 bracelets. All in all, it was a good purchase but not something that will be used over and over again.

I purchased this for my 8 yr old. I love it so much that she hasn't had a chance to use it yet because I can't put it down. Unlike some other reviewers, I didn't think that the instructions were hard to understand. The wheels make 4 different bracelet patterns but the procedure is the same for all 4 patterns. All that differs is where you put the colors on the wheel to start. The bracelets are made by repeating just a couple of simple steps over and over again. The hardest part is that you move two strings, turn the wheel, move two strings, etc and if you look away from the wheel and then look back it can be hard to tell where you left off. My daughter may have trouble with it because it does take some concentration and you have to remember to mark where you left off before you take a break. The wheels are made of durable foam so they are very lightweight. I would recommend this for ages 8 and above.

We loved this toy so much, that we bought 8 more for my daughter to give as gifts. We originally purchased this when she was about 8. She is now almost 11. She forgets about it for several months at a time, but then finds it again and gets to work. I expect to be using this for years to come. When our dog chewed one of the wheels, she cried and cried and we are now replacing it.

Pros: Great concept. Simple (once you get the hang of it) , cool bracelet once you finish. Fast for older ages (10+) can be a little slow for younger kids. Great hard plastic box for storage. The wheels themselves are soft foam. They grip the strings well. More floss/string can be purchased very inexpensively from any fabric or craft store. Small/portable: easy to carry in a purse for on the go entertainment.

Cons: Note, what you get did NOT take much money to MAKE - the wheels are just cheap soft foam - but the development/concept is very unique. I have some concern that when we give it as a gift, it doesn't look like a $15 gift.

I wish they sold additional designs. We would certainly purchase them.

Enjoy!

I got this for my 9 year old for her birthday. She's really enjoying it and wants to make bracelets for all her friends. I've also made one and it is hard to put down. Once you get the basic instructions down, it's really easy. Something you can do while watching TV.

I'm in my thirtys and have fun making these! The video that you can find on their site and you tube is a great help to get started right away and know exactly what you are doing. I thought about buying them for my neices for Christmas, they are 7 and 9.
