2.0 out of 5 stars Very Frustrating Electronic Apparatus, December 27, 2011
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Alex Kidd Enchanted Castle (Video Game)
Well let me start off by saying that this game is inhumane irritating. The controls are as slippery as games like Pagemaster and Decap Attack on the Sega Genesis. This Alex Kidd guy is weak as hell, the slightest touch sends him to heaven, literally. The stages become a maze after like the 7th stage, and the Rocky Mountain stage is one of the most grueling things you can accomplish in your life because of the awful controls. The theme of this game is also dumb, like why the hell would someone want to play a game where they play rock, paper scissors all day. The only way that this game can be beat is by trial and error, you would have to be extremely lucky to beat it without dying. The music is awesome in this game I would admit, but in a overall sense, this game isn't worth digging up to reexplore. Thank god that Sonic came two years after this game to save Sega from failure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Alex is on the run!, October 22, 2005

= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Alex Kidd Enchanted Castle (Video Game)
I've played this game on Radica's Sega 2 Plug n' Play game, which features other enjoyable games like Sonic 2 and Ecco the Dolphin as well. This game has been my favorite ever since I got the Plug n' Play game.

The legend begins on the planet Aires, when Alex is forced to take orders from his brother Igul, king of the planet. Then one day, Alex receives a note. Rumor has it, his long-lost father, King Thor, is the king of the sky castle on another planet. Alex must travel there and know the truth! It won't be easy, though. The people enjoy playing "Rock Paper Scissors" and anyone who loses won't last long!

Likes:

-The fun "Rock Paper Scissors" game you can play with a gorilla, bear, wizard, or queen. Practice mode for it is in the options menu.

-The fun prizes that you can win that will help you throughout the game:

Good luck charm
Power necklace
Flying stick
Invincible coat
Motorized scooter
Helicopter
Pogo stick

-You can set the difficulty at the options menu.

-If you have 1,000 gold coins or more when you die, you can continue by selecting "Continue" at the options menu.

Dislikes

-Some levels are hard but hopefully not impossible.

-Helicopters have bad control but you can use flying sticks instead.

Overall, 5 stars. A must-play Genesis game.

Please note: Be sure to check out my reviews to Game Gear games as well.
