I assembled this trike for my nearly 5 year old daughter (who is motor delayed and only now learning to peddle a bike and steer at the same time). I can't speak to the baby settings, but at the oldest setting, this bike is awesome!

I totally thought that it this trike would be a piece of plastic garbage like so many other things out of China. I couldn't imagine how they could justify the price when Radio Flyer has nice metal construction trikes out there. Well, I'm eating my words. First of all, the bike is pretty sturdy. The wheels are wider than a lot of trikes. I've found that among a sampling of trikes, the Alex is as sturdy as a Fisher Price or Kettler (yes, this seems to run the price gamut)--and far more sturdy than a Radio Flyer.

I prefer Alex's upright seating position, however, which resembles the Kettler & Radio Flyer to Fisher-Price's slightly lower and leaned back seating. Since my daughter occasionally bikes in her skirt or dress, I get maybe another inch off the ground to keep the flying mud off. Of course, I'm still constantly tucking the skirt behind her into the seat anyways.

I was surprised that my daughter could still fit into the trike. She's by no means a small girl. Throughout her toddler years, she was at the 70-90 percentiles for height and weight.

This trike is well-designed, sturdy, and user-friendly! Everything is positioned well and you can tell that much thought has gone in to this product. It is made well and has held up very well under regular use by our 1-year old. Our only recommendation would be to put better tires on it. The plastic tires that it comes with are fine for indoor use, but don't work well for outdoor use.

This is the best toy that we've bought so far, and our child is almost a year old. Very durable, easy to steer, high quality, and extremely well engingeered (hubby - a mechanical engineer - agrees). Our baby has used the tricylce since age 8 months. We like it so much that we keep one at the grandparents' home and one at our place. First review I've ever written, but it's been such a great product for our family.

Whoa! This is the Swiss army knife of preschool transportation. I have expected this toy to rock our son to sleep, fill his sippy cup and teach him his colors!

That being said, we found this toy to be a devil to put together, even for my mechanically minded husband. When asked about the educational value of this toy as part of the Amazon review, I wish I could have replied for us as parents...my husband certainly learned a great deal about the fiting together of parts.

This is a very durable, high quality set of materials, with an awkward design. Our son seemed to enjoy it well enough, but not so well that I would recommend this to other parents as a solution to eh problem of collecting multiple means of transportation/fun for their child as he/she matures.

Good try! Could be better.

from the hard plastic wheels to the flopping-down-in-the-face overhead sun shield to the un-usable front pedals to the rear storage bucket that falls off and finally to the nearly unsteerable adult override this trike was poorly designed with bottom of the line materials. It is colorful though.

I did a lot of research looking for the "perfect" tricycle with a canopy. There is another brand that is much more popular that has some design flaws that are unfavorable. These flaws include tipping over easily and not steering well. This tricycle has NEITHER of these problems. It steers very well and I have not had any issues in which I felt it was going to tip over. It was very easy to put together. My husband put it together in about 30 minutes. Something I love is that the handlebar is completely adjustable. I am tall (5'11") so I love that I can adjust the handle so I do not kick the back of the tricycle. My son is a year old and he loves it. I know he is in there securely with his five point harness. He likes to put his hands on the handlebars and "steer" while I still have all of the control. His feet touch the pedals already (he is tall for his age) but he already realized that it is more comfortable to put them on the resting pegs. I would recommend this tricycle to anyone.

When I first opened the box, the Ready, Set, Go! Trike looked like it might've been a bad idea. The brightly colored plastic was attractive but didn't look very sturdy. Fortunately, I was wrong.

Putting the trike together, I found that the smooth plastic curves hide a well-machined metal frame. With the exception of the slightly peculiar (but easily removed) sunshade, the looks and construction are terrific.

It's easy for parents to control and steer; the removable handle is imminently adjustable. There's also a "parking" break on the rear that you can apply rapidly. These features are important in the first two incarnations of the trike; as a stroller for babies 10 months and older then a "baby trike" beginning at 15 months. It even has fold-down footrests for the tiniest ones' feet.

There's a seat belt and a removable safety bar and the seat itself is perfectly molded for baby behinds. The pedals and wheels are non-slip (though the wheels look more suited to indoor rides than out.) There's a clutch that you can release when you're ready to let your child try steering the trike himself. The trike's accessorized with a cup holder and rear basket. It's one cute little conveyance.

We haven't tried the tricycle yet; in fact, we've barely begun the stroller phase, but I wanted to give a partial review because our grandson already loves it. When he sees the trike, he smiles and makes those cute anticipatory baby noises. Good omens for the future of the trike!

EDIT: This trike has proven to be such a hit with our grandson and his parents, that I had to up it to a five star product, all the way across the board.
