5.0 out of 5 stars Great Fun for Little Ones!
My now 4 yr old son hated taking baths & I was pretty desperate & willing to try almost anything to get him to take a bath without going through another world war so I just started searching bath toys, & when I saw another Alex product I remembered he always seemed to like their toys & decided to just look at bath toys by Alex. 2.0 out of 5 stars Had much higher expectations for this bath toy
We bought the Alex Rub a Dub Tub City for my 1 year old figuring our 3 year old would be able to play with it too. It kept my 3 year olds interest for a few nights, but the 1 year old just wanted to chew on the foam pieces (teething). There are way too many pieces and not enough surface to stack them on. Although it comes with a mesh bag to store the pieces in, ours...

My now 4 yr old son hated taking baths & I was pretty desperate & willing to try almost anything to get him to take a bath without going through another world war so I just started searching bath toys, & when I saw another Alex product I remembered he always seemed to like their toys & decided to just look at bath toys by Alex. I saved a few things to my wish list to go back & look @ later but when I came across this I KNEW this was the one.
When I gave my then 3 yr. old son the box his eyes lit up & wanted to play w/ it right away & I let him sit on the living room floor & build w/ the sturdy but cute & simple pieces. I then told him he could use it in the bath too & the base floated & when the pieces were wet they'd stick together he was all for it & still uses it in the bath now, almost a year later!

I got this for my almost-3-year-old grandson, and it was a huge hit! The pieces stick together well when wet, making it easy to build in the tub. He was intrigued that the base floats! It is a great addition to his tub toys!

New bath toy needed and this was highly reviewed so I bought it though I could not imagine that it would be that much fun. My 5 year old loves it. He builds tall towers on the edge of the tub and will to the bathroom to play with the toy when it isn't bath time. Its a very simple toy, sponge blocks to make a city with, but its a hit. Another great thing about this toy is that it doesn't have a hollow inside like to many tub toys and thus it doesn't get icky tub water inside of it. Instead it solid sponge with a little mesh bag to put the toys in to drain when not in use.

My daughter loves this toy. I love it too, especially b/c instead of sticking to the wall, the base floats on the water, which is ingenious. The pieces are cute and fun, and my daughter loves building with the pieces and playing pretend. The only thing that keeps me from giving this toy 5 stars is that the mesh bag is so annoying: It's a bit small, so you have to really stuff the pieces in there, and it's scratchy, and worst of all, the suction cups are terrible, so the bag will inevitably fall.

This is the coolest bath toy. My kids, 6 and 4, love it! My only complaint is that one of the suction cups was bent so much that it won't stick to the side of the tub. Otherwise, great product!

This is without a doubt THE BEST bath toy I have ever seen!! The blocks stick together when wet and the front and back of each piece has a different design, which makes for countless building combinations. Most bath toys available seem a bit babyish for the 5 and up crew. Purchasing this set has renewed our 5-year-old child's interest in bath time- she can't wait to create a new Tub City and play with the little people included in the set (the characters are also dual-sided!) I highly recommend this set and hope that it will hold up to much play!

My wife and I were having the worst experiences trying to give our 2 year old baths. He would cry uncontrollably and let out ear piercing screams because he hated being in the tub so much. It seemed like we tried everything we could, and were swapping in and out during bath time so that not one of us took the entire bashing that we would get (emotionally and physically). Then we decided to buy the Rub a Dub Tub City and I have to say it is not only fun for the little one, but it actually saved me from going mad! My child was so excited when he was helping me open the package and he couldn't wait to play with it. I explained that it is a bath toy and that when bathtime comes around he can play with it in the tub. Well, later that day, bathtime arrived... and he was a little hesitant to get into the tub at first, but soon was in and stacking buildings in no time. The little blocks also stick to the side of my tub when they are wet, so it was really fun for him. We have had this product for a month now and I haven't had a bad bathtime experience since. He actually runs for the bathroom when me or my wife tell him it's bathtime. I can't believe it!

As far as the product itself, the blocks are made of a compressed foam and seem very durable. They connect to each other by sort of sticking when wet. It comes with a net pouch with two suction cups to hold the blocks when bathtime is over. My suction cups needed a little reforming. There are a lot of blocks, two trees, two people, a car, and a fish that came with it. Enough that my two children (4 and 2) can play in the bathtub with them at the same time and not cause a fight about sharing.

After I ordered this, I got it in 4 business days.

Overall, I have to give this the highest recommendation possible. It is a wonderful product and I would highly recommend it.

Product works well. Sturdy styrofoam. My son does not play with the pieces much during bath time, but I dont fault the product for that. It appears that he does not want to play with anything in particular during bath time. I would recommend the product to parents who think their children are inclined to play with such a toy. The mesh storage bag for the city parts is a plus.

5.0 out of 5 stars I even enjoy this toy!, November 5, 2010

while visiting my mom in another state I had to give my baby a bath quite a few times (one would hope right?) well my mom had these bath toys for my nephew and very young cousins to play with (in general not nec. in the tub) and they were the envy of all the little kids (and me of course). My daughter was just barely learning how to walk so she didn't get to play with them very much except when I commandeered them for bath time. she loved how they stuck to the wall and tub after getting wet and loved chewing on the foammy cars and buildings. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with kids and plan on buying a whole bunch for my babies very soon!

I bought this set for my 2 year old. It is GREAT! I got tired of finding mildew in our squeeze toys and having to throw them out - these solved that - the individual pieces are solid so no water gets in them. Instead they float, they stick to the sides and walls of the tub, they stick to each other, they can be chewed on without damage and they are cute! They are also great for stacking, counting and for color recognition. What more can you ask for in a bath toy! The storage bag it comes with sticks to the tub after the bath fine. The only issue is the rather large floating mat which is kind of a pain to store and takes up a lot of room in the tub.
