4.0 out of 5 stars Melissa & Doug Fan, March 4, 2005
This review is from: Parking Garage by Melissa and Doug (Toy)
I have always been a fan of Melissa & Doug products.
If you are looking for a toy with lots of bells & whistles, then this is not the toy for you. There are no batteries, and even the elevator requires the child to turn a knob. If you are looking for a toy where your child has to use their imagination, then this IS the toy for you! It provides tons of opportunities for an adult & child to get on the floor and let their creativity flow. The construction as with most Melissa & Doug products is excellent and will withstand even the roughest child. I am giving it four stars, because for $70, they should have included more than two vehicles and at least a traffic sign or two. I would suggest spending another $20 and also purchasing the Melissa & Doug "Wooden Vehicles and Traffic Signs Set" which goes along nicely with this toy. [...]

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Kids Parking Garage Ever!, November 23, 2008

I bought this for my son because he plays with his Hot Wheels cars and we were looking for a good parking garage. We saw this on the internet so I ordered it. It was a little pricey but well worth the money. My son plays with this garage everyday. He even uses his imagination and pretends it's something else. My son gets into Star Wars and anyone who knows Star Wars knows how hard it is to find a Death Star play set, well my son uses this parking garage as the Death star. How funny is that. If you are reading reviews to determine whether to buy this or not, I definitely would recommend this to anyone who has a child with an imagination. This toy got my son off of the video games.

We are huge Melissa & Doug fans and this one is one of our favorites! We love that it is wooden and does not have any lights, batteries, or sounds, only pure imagination!!! My almost 3 year old son will zoom his cars up the elevator and down the ramps 100 times. I like that it has gas pumps and a gate for added pretend play.
The garage is an attractive design with brightly colored details. It is almost like a pretend little city, and my son loves it! This garage is difficult to find, but I was so happy that I did! Definitely a hit in my family!

I bought this for my 18mth old son for Christmas. He LOVES cars, and he and his sister 4, will both enjoy zooming the cars down the ramp. It seems to be a good size for sharing; having a child at either side, or for sitting and playing with. Having said that, children will be children and sharing is something learned...

Granted, it's not been played with yet, and Melissa & Doug aren't my favorite wooden play manufacturer, but I do prefer wooden toys and the co have a good name. It looks like it'll last a while. At first glance, it seems normal matchbox, hotwheels etc cars will be ample to zoom down the ramp. Having said this, I don't intend to purchase any M&D cars.

I've no idea how to add to a review, but I may.. roll on Christmas!
I snapped this up at half price, I'd never have paid $$ for a garage, but it's wooden so it'll last and in my eyes, is well worth the investment... especially when I hear those satisfying chortles of delight!

I know that there is not a better parking garage out there but wish the elevator was a little better made and the kids were able to see on the second floor better otherwise very cool, worth every penny

My 3 yr old and 5 yr old, LOVE this toy. They got it for Christmas and have been playing with it a lot. I guess the old toys are still the best toys. Melissa and Doug toys are very durable. i plan to have this a long time.
