5.0 out of 5 stars Alexisonfire
No band in the world hits me the way Alexisonfire has...There is something about those melodic tunes and powerful screams that hits the heart. Its perfect...and the guitar parts are beautiful.

2.0 out of 5 stars Could have been AMAZING!
The music is great. The guys in 'Alexisonfire' are a great group of guys who are energetic songwriters...and they put on a crazy live show!! But, despite the talent that the musicians have, they ruin most of the songs with George...the second "singer" who screams insanely and ridiculously throughout the entire recording. It's a shame too, because Dallas has a...

5.0 out of 5 stars Good lord, June 17, 2003

Music should not be this good. In a genre that is quickly becoming infested with cookie cutter, manufactured major label robots...this is a big breath of fresh air. Alexisonfire take hardcore to the next level. The melodies are amazing, all combined with the speed, intensity, and honesty hardcore should be known for. For fans of : Skycamefalling, Hopesfall, Beloved, Grade etc...I have listened to this album for a solid month now and like it more and more everyday. This band is here to help save hardcore...

4.0 out of 5 stars Top Notch Emo-based metal, January 1, 2003

This album is one of greatest to come out of the vastly increasing emo-metal scene. I feel like I am the only fan of alexisonfire in England, and I hope these guys make it big because I'm desperate to witness one of their notorious live shows. The screaming is a little rough, and drowns out Dallas's perfect emo voice a little too much, and I think george's screaming is used a lot more than necessary.

The big intro's add a good effect to the songs. My personal favourites are '44. Caliber Love Letter' and 'Polaroids Of Polar Bears', because both of these show alexisonfire's contrasting emotional and brutal sides.

I'd put alexisonfire on a par with Planes Mistaken For Stars and Thrice, and I'll be looking forward to future releases, and Dallas' forthcoming solo album.

I've been to a few Alexisonfire shows and they're so amazing live. The CD rocks my hurricane to extremely new and exciting levels as well though. They're just really talented. On some songs there's these really rad slightly longer than normal intros that I particularly like. It's all heavy and melodic at the same time.A beautiful thing really.Every song is really good but my favourites are "adelleda" and "little girls pointing and laughing".I can't really fully explain in detail my enjoyment for this CD right now but it was definitely worth my dollars and cents. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up.

This is an amazing cd, and I'll have to make it a point to see them live. I must warn you though, alexisonfire isn't for people who don't appreciate real music. If you like emocore, hardcore, and/or emo, get it. If you don't or haven't heard of the genres, buy it anyways. Water Wings is my favorite song on the cd. This cd comebines beautiful melodies and great emotional hardcore. It's worth your money.

I was never one to favor any scream-o bands until I heard alexisonfire. George is screaming out the lyrics "found on the website" But you cant figure out what Dalles quite says until you here it...Well if any one knows any Dallas lyrics to add in you should really post it :D..

Best songs I love on CD are "Little girls pointing and Laughing" and "Adella"
