5.0 out of 5 stars A tribute for independent women, July 27, 2001
By
This review is from: Lady Alex's Gamble (Signet Regency Romance) (Paperback)
When her twin brother runs through the family fortune, a young woman travel to London masquarading as a man to win back the money before her brother's creditor forces her into marriage. In London, she meets the honorable Major Wrotham who eventually penetrates her disguise and instead of despising her charade, becomes her biggest champion.

This book is so marvelous, because never once, does the heroine fade into a creature that must be saved by the hero. Instead, the hero, is just that, for the respect that he lends Lady Alex and the sensitivity he shows in helping her to be even stronger and more independent.

All of Evelyn Richardson's books are about strong independent women and the men that are secure enough with themselves to offer respect and support to the women they love. This is my favorite book by this author. A must read.
