Customer Reviews

Seemed pretty cheaply built, too.

The battery doesn't last long at all, perhaps 24 hours with minimal use but if you talk for a couple hours it will either be flat or almost.

When I tried to connect my VoIP phone to my SKYPE it was to my finding that this phone communications system will not work with SKYPE.

Well I was looking for the absolute cheapest wifi VoIP phone on the net and I think I found it.

It works as it says it does and connected to my Wifi WEP lan without too many issues. does it support WPA2? NO!

It has a web interface built in on the phone which I was able to access but couldn't change the settings (which was the point of having the web access onto it) so had to do all the configuration through the phones keypad which was annoying but it could still be done this way. I think it either didn't support the browser (which I tried a few) and/or it was because I am using windows 7.

It has an address book which is useful, but can't sync it to my PC for one reason or another, It should be possible though.

Phone quality however is very quiet. In talking you have to talk very loudly to be heard clearly (very loudly for me could be a normal volume for an American voice however as I am a bit more softly spoken...)

The phone takes a couple seconds to answer when you press the answer key, this isn't a problem once you remember to think about it before answering.

The battery doesn't last long at all, perhaps 24 hours with minimal use but if you talk for a couple hours it will either be flat or almost.

A couple times it disconnected while in conversation with someone though this could have been our SIP provider, hard to tell...

The phone has also 'crashed' a few times too which required a battery removal to get it operational quickly, it could have been left for a while and may come right but thats no good if you need to make a phone call.

This phone seemed like the perfect solution for having a wireless VoIP phone, but unfortunately it did not support WPA. Seemed pretty cheaply built, too.

This Alfa Wi-fi phone has simple settings and works only in SIP services, not prepared for Skype and Skype doesn't have SIP protocol yet.

I was able to set it up and make a call, it meets the expectation as a SIP phone, but can not be in practical use, battery ran out fast, when it hangs up, I need to pull out the battery to restart, putting the phone into the base is also something difficult, you need to be careful, I believe with a phone, it should be ready anytime to be used, with this phone, I'm not sure if it will work next time I pick it up, to save my trouble i just put it back into box, and it's gathering dust now:(

This was the worst experience with any tech product that I've ever had. The first time I turned it on, I was greeted with a startup screen that said "Network initializing..."

The end. The phone stayed frozen on this screen forever. Buttons did nothing, had to remove the battery to turn it off and try again. No use. Left it in this state overnight on the off chance it was just obscenely slow. Nope. Explained my problem to the seller, who exchanged it for a new one. Second phone arrives and... has the same problem. That's correct, the SECOND PHONE I received had the EXACT SAME FATAL ERROR. I send an angry letter to the seller who thankfully agrees to refund me.

I'd like to conclude that this phone is complete trash and the company that makes it just plain crooked, but the big mystery to me is that other people who've reviewed it actually managed to get it to work. Did I just get unbelievably unlucky?? Regardless, most users who got it working still had problems and gave it a fairly mediocre score, so you know what? I still say it's complete trash.

I'd also like to mention that it came packaged with a PDF manual... on a generic recordable CD-R with no label of any kind. Pretty sketchy and unprofessional, right? I was almost afraid to put it in my PC! I can't recommend this product to anybody, anywhere, under any circumstances, ever. If you want a VOIP phone and you're on a budget (like I was), just do without a VOIP phone (like I will).
