The 8-cup Albergo Carafe features chrome-plated metal, a chrome-plated plastic trim, an integrated tea filter, and a hinged lid for easy one-hand operation.

The Designer
Julian Brown is a top designer with a distinguished career. He studied mechanical engineering and industrial design at the Royal College of Art, where he also works today as an external teacher of industrial design. His characteristic formal style has been greatly influenced by periods spent in Japan, Austria, and Berlin. A style which numerous companies around the world regard highly, and which he has given expression to quite brilliantly in his product creations as many international design awards go to prove Julian Brown has already duplicated his talent for Alfi numerous times. The result is the vacuum jug Pump & Go and the two award-winning designs Basic and La Ola. They demonstrate the fruitful fusion of quality and innovation. Alfi's Albergo is an attractive chrome plated metal carafe with easy one-hand operation and features integrated tea filter. Equipped with Alfi's double-walled vacuum glass liner which keeps liquids hot or cold for up to 13 hours. Hand wash with warm soapy water. 1-liter or 8-cup capacity.

I love my new Alfi Albergo Carafe. Nice quality, liter size works well, and the tea filter is great. We have been amazed that it holds the heat as long as twelve hours on occasion. Great product.

The carafe has a plastic insert with a strong smell. There was no instruction how to pull it out (instructions were very general, incomplete and written in not very good English). I did not get any response from the factory, so I did not have a choice and had to return it. Also, for this price the outside of the top should have been plated better.

I love this carafe. It looks great and keeps our coffee hot for a decent period. I liked the one handed pour feature. Unfortunately, the pour spout, which is built into the lid, stopped working properly. I haven't been able to reach the company to know if there is a replacement lid for it. I would never want any other carafe if I could just get a replacement lid. I can't see buying a whole new carafe just for the lid.
