From Library Journal
Many of the millions of IBM-compatible personal computer users are not aware of the free programs of all kinds that are easily available. This excellent book is a comprehensive guide to the sources of such software and to the programs themselves. After an initial orientation section, both commercial and private sources that offer free programs are described in detail. The remainder of the book is devoted to a discussion of the best programs in nine categories. Glossbrenner has a lively and easy-to-read style and knows his subject thoroughly. He also includes other information about computers useful to both novices and experienced operators. Highly recommended. Frank Davidoff, formerly Consultant, CBS Broadcast Group, New York
