Fast paced and exciting!, June 16, 2008
I haven't been able to get my hands on the first Alfred Kropp book yet but after having read this book, I definitely will. This book has all the ingredients that makes a book exciting - adventure, danger and even some softer moments like when Alfred thinks of his dead mum or is compassionate towards his treatment of Kenny, the other foster child living at the Tuttles. A good book which I didn't want to put down!

My son and I disagree, February 22, 2010
My son loves Alfred Kropp. He's 11. I do not love Alfred Kropp. I'm 36. I think the dialogue is inane, the story eye roll-worthy, while my son loves everything about this book.
I read it aloud to him and my other two boys. They usually fell asleep after the first few paragraphs.
This story centers on Alfred and how he gets swept up in a plot to take over the world. The secret organization OIPEP calls him in to help them find Mike who has stolen the Greater and Lesser Seals of Solomon. Alfred is there to help and yet no one will tell him why they need him or how he can help. He pretty much bumbles his way through the story, coming in to his own only at the very end.
I asked my son why he liked this book so much. He couldn't tell me, except to say, "I don't know, Mom. It's funny."
