This book covers everything in an easy way. Perfect if you are learning on your own with out a teacher. I love using it and never find myself frustrated with lack of understanding.

I am pleased with this item. It is as good as I expected.I would have had to go out of town to find this book if they had it in stock. So I saved big on gas.

I have found all of the Alfred Piano Learning Books to be a very in depth learning tool. I would strongly suggest it to someone who is interested in learning the piano. I have been absent from playing for many many years and this has brought the joy of playing piano back into my life.

While I have a high opinion of the Alfred's Adult Piano Course books, I don't think they did a very good job with this, the first of two accompanying books that are called "All-Time Favorites."

All the songs sound the same! It's true, they are all in very basic keys and there's nothing you can do about that in a Level 1 book, but still: virtually all the bass lines are the same thing over and over again.

I think the second book, "All-Time Favorites: Level Two," is much better, with songs that are distinctly different-sounding.

Two other complaints:

1. I'm guessing Willard Palmer was a kid in about 1908-1912? Because songs from that era are heavily overrepresented here.
2. The songs are not anthologized in careful order: there are songs in the middle of the book that are way easier than some of the songs at the beginning.

I love Alfred's Basic Piano course. This course motivates me to continue my piano
learning. I like this because many people don't believe older adults should seek their dreams of playing the piano.

alfreds is always great and this is no exception. Great for an adult who wants to learn to play piano.

I am doing the Alfred Adult Piano Lessons. I purchased this book as it gives me supplementary songs to practice that relate to the lessons that I have already learned in my regular lesson books. I think Alfred varies the music nicely and you get a mix of popular, classical and other genre's of music to practice! I recommend the entire Alfred program!

The arrangements in this book are very nice. Great
diversity of music plus easy and enjoyable to play
as a beginner.
