5.0 out of 5 stars Essentials of Music Theory is amazing!, December 30, 2002
This review is from: Alfred's Essential of Music Theory 2.0 (Complete Educator Version) (CD-ROM)
I had been looking forever for a software tool that my students can use to learn the basics of music while learning to play piano. Out of the many products I have researched, this one caught my attention because of its high level of interactivity and high-quality sound.

When I received this product, it was better than I expected! This is a very well-written program. It has lessons and exercises to practice the material in the lessons. It has reviews at the end of each chapter (unit). It has a scoring database for your students so that you can see how well they are doing on any particular material.

This product could be sold for much more, as it seems that there was a lot of time and effort put into this product. I highly recommend it to any private teachers with several students.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very thorough teaching method, March 21, 2003

This product really helps to learn all about music. I have all three volumes, and I can't express how wonderful it is. From the beginning, you learn what a note is, how it looks, and what it sounds like (just like a Music For Dummies, but interactive). By the end, you can read complex scores like a professional musician.

This is probably the greatest teaching tool for students (or adults) who want to learn how to read music from scratch. It is very well-organized and easy to use.
