I have voice training from my drama background, so I already had the basics of breathing. This book though, was a step by step guide of exactly how to manage your tongue, throat and body for proper production of the singing voice. I was amazed by a noticeable and instant improvement to my singing voice. Highly recommended for the beginning singer!

This is an excellent instruction text for aspiring singers. I am a vocal coach and use this text as a foundation for instruction for my students. It comes with a CD and gives the student an excellent opportunity to practice singing with the CD with a full bodied orchestra. IT also has excellent instruction on proper breathing technic, and vocal exercises as well as documented resources from famous vocal artists that is very inspiring for our students.

This book is not at all helpful if you already know how to read music and carry a basic tune. It might be helpful to someone who's never tried to read music or sing before, but not me (I have 11 yrs. instrumental music experience). I guess I'm going to have to fork out $$$ for professional lessons!!
