5.0 out of 5 stars A very simple read on a very complex subject.
Mr. Abrams has done a very great service in his book. The information on this most unique algae is worth the read alone. In addition there is a most extensive overview of nutritional elements (contained in AFA) and their effects on the body and mind. Taken together we have a very simple, concise textbook understandable by all regardless of your interest in Algae...

1.0 out of 5 stars toxins
Anyone reading this should bear in mind that AFA may both produce toxins and be found together with toxin producing algae (eg Microcystis in Klamath Lake). Routine tests only look for one of a possible battery of neurotoxins, and so are not foolproof. Finally, toxic AFA has been harvested and sold in the past. Be careful.

5.0 out of 5 stars An eye-opener for people trying to get well!, March 12, 1998

This review is from: Algae to the Rescue Everything You Need to Know about Nutrition Algae (Paperback)
This book is very user friendly. It has a lot of technical information that has been written in a very easy to read and understand format for the average person as well as the technical person. It is about time that someone who is professional and reputable wrote something that is truthful about aphonizomenon flos aquae. It helped me to understand more about the effects the algae has had on my body in my life. I would encourage anyone who is interested in AFA to read it and then apply the information in it when deciding where to purchase it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The truth about Nutritional Blue-Green Algae, August 23, 1998

Dr. Abrams has written a very easy reference book for those of us who are seeking the absolute best in nutrition for vibrant health! Aphanizomenon flos-aquae (AFA) is the most nutrient dense food available on earth. In this book, Dr. Abrams clearly explains how this natural superfood from Klamath Lake in Oregon can work for you. It's time to put to rest all the mis-information about this food, and should help the readers to choose which source to purchase from.

I just received the book. I haven't read it yet. It came in due time and as advertised. It is a used book from the Metropolitan Toronto Reference Library for which I paid $0.01. Can't beat that deal.
