There aren't many books dedicated to the Algarve that I can find in my local bookstores. Usually I have to wait to get to London to find good guides. Fortunately, Amazon had the Eyewitness Top 10 available for order (saw it in London last year). It spreads out information across the entire county instead of focusing on the larger, more crowded areas. Get a Globetrotter book and you'll be all set for a great trip.

This book was a great guide for me and my family on our trip to the Algarve. It was our first trip to Portugal and I looked at so many books. This one had a map to follow and a bunch of places to check out. It was especially nice when I found places in the book and took my own pictures of what I'd read about. Overall a great book for the occasion. No too much info that I wasn't looking for. Just local places to go and things to see or do.
