I was hesitant to buy this book as we were mainly spending time in Albufeira and I was worried there wouldn't be enough detail. I was wrong! The fold out map in this book was immensely helpful, had great detail. not only did it help us around Albufeira but also in the neighboring towns we were pottery shopping, and playing golf in. Gives a good amount of history for each site as well, which is information that you won't find elsewhere.

This guide book is way more thorough than Lonely Planet or even Rick Steves. I like how it is just focused on the Algarve and not all of Portugal. The map is awesome and will come in handy when navigating the smaller roads especially in the western Algarve. I also bought an Eyewitness Guide to take along with this guide which is equally handy. Can't wait to get back to Portugal to test everything out!
