4.0 out of 5 stars Exciting and Realistic Science Fiction Thriller January 4, 2011
Initially, I doubted my nephew's ability to pull this kind of film off. But as I watched, I was pleasantly surprised.

A smart idea pulled off intelligently. A young man finds out his body holds the secret to the future of world medicine. But there are those who would stop at nothing to keep alive the status quo.

Political. Personal. And great action sequences!

A smart idea pulled off intelligently. A young director finds his wings with his first feature film. So I now have to yield to our family's newest--and brightest--star. I guess I can deal with being known as "Andrew Burroughs' uncle." LOL!

4.0 out of 5 stars SHOCKINGLY GOOD INDEPENDENT MOVIE October 23, 2011
I met the director and a colleauge of his at a business seminar two years ago. Thus, the traditional hand off of business cards had taken place. At which time we found out that we both were college graduates of Media and Film.

He informed me his Independent film would be showing at the Bloomfield, NJ movie theatre. At first, I was not that interested in attending. But I thought about how much work (hours) it takes to completely package a five (5) minute documentary. This guy said, he completed an ENTIRE MOVIE. So, I said, let me see, if this movie is any good--going in thinking it would not be. But if nothing else, let me support my fellow Media and Film comrade.

Shockingly, the movie was good.

How do I know? I wasn't ready to find the back door and slide out of the theatre--lol. Additionally, I purchased the Algeny DVD. Anyone I have shown the movie too--says, "this was an Independent Film! That seemed like a real movie. It was really good". I say, "I know!"...

I do recommend to anyone who likes PLOT and ACTION orientated movies to see ALGENY---this is coming from a BIG crtiquer. The movie definitely has one THINKING afterwards.

I am still in awe of the fact that this director shot this movie with ONLY ONE CAMERA and with diverse cast members--a rarity in movies. I really loved the Asian guy---.

All that said, enjoy "Algeny The Genetic Factor" on DVD...I know, I did at the live movie screening.
