slices of history, mostly for historians
on June 26, 2015
This is a collection of reports Camus, sent to Paris from Algeria around 1958, both economic and political, with personal overlays. It is largely of interest to historians and other specialists interested in Algeria's contribution to the collapse of the Fourth Republic. The stories can also be seen in the context of Camus' political and philosophical development as a writer, and is viewed by many as Camus' judgment on terrorism.
The stories are well written and informative, but not enough so to make them engaging to most contemporary readers.
