Not enough give; closer to a being cot,
By Kristine M (Atlanta, GA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Algoma Folding Hammock And Stand (Misc.)
I received this hammock as a corporate gift. It was super easy to set up. Just unfold the stand, and attach the fabric bed with the hooks and chains. Originally, only three chains to connect it to the stand were in the box, but a quick phone call to Algoma resulted in four new chains being sent to me. (The new ones were slightly longer than the old ones, with a bigger connection ring.)
I'm telling you that because (1) customer service is very good, and (2) you should be mindful that there are four contact points, rather than two. This means that it won't sway from side to side like you might imagine a hammock should. The fabric is pretty strong, but that means it doesn't have a lot of give to mold to your body shape the way a rope hammock would. I personally didn't find it that comfortable for napping, but I can be a little Princess and the Pea about where I sleep. I tried to use it as a emergency guest bed, but my guest was 6' tall, and not that comfortable on it for overnight. It might do better in the backyard for naps, as intended. It might work for a kid for overnight, but not most adults. |
