5.0 out of 5 stars Algonquin Splendor
This CD is a brilliant creation of a calm cool, Algonquin forest, I have been to Algonquin Park in Ontario, and even though I now live far south the CD still captures the atmosphere and gentle feelings of the moment. It is an intriguing adventure in itself, where in some of its moments you feel like sitting back and sighing at its splendor, and in others you feel...

3.0 out of 5 stars Boring music
Actually I like the nature sounds recorded in this CD. It is real and smooth. But the music does not match the forest mood created by the nature sounds. The music is simply boring and sometimes too soft. You can hardly hear to it when there are noises beside you.I mildly like the first track and the fifth track. But the others do not match with the forest birds, or...

This CD is a brilliant creation of a calm cool, Algonquin forest, I have been to Algonquin Park in Ontario, and even though I now live far south the CD still captures the atmosphere and gentle feelings of the moment. It is an intriguing adventure in itself, where in some of its moments you feel like sitting back and sighing at its splendor, and in others you feel compelled to just drift gently off to sleep. I personally recommend this CD for anyone who enjoys the overall serenity of nature, and its attachment to the, I must say, well selected musical accompaniments.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beyond mere "Excellence"!, February 4, 2000

I can't say enough good things about this disc. I'm actually here buying another copy, since my first is worn out! The music is superb, the production quality excellent,... I could go on and on. This disc is great for relaxing or for falling asleep. Or even just background music. I HIGHLY recommend this, as well as the other "Solitudes Suites".

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Great Dan Gibson CD, July 13, 2006
This review is from: Algonquin Suite (Audio CD)
I really enjoy the music on Dan Gibson's "Algonquin Suite" - with its mixture of what I call "relaxing music" & various nature sounds. There are more animal sounds than I've heard on my other Solitudes CD's, and I really like it.

I visited Algonquin Park on my honeymoon, and I've found that this CD does a wonderful job of transporting me back there when I listen to it - and Algonquin Park is a wonderful, beautiful place of nature, a place that I would like to return to often!

I use this CD to relax to, as well as to meditate with - and it always "does the trick".

Overall, if you enjoy relaxing music that includes various nature sounds, I would highly recommend this CD. Who knows, maybe it will become one of your favorites too...

I love this CD. I listen to it when I need to get away from the hustle and bustle of life, my little camping trip. I fall to sleep by it. It is so real, and creates vivid mind pictures. BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This music took me away from the world when I needed a break from computer work at home. I closed my eyes and floated with the notes to a beautiful, peaceful place. If you want music that will calm your breathing and relax the tension, this is absolutely the music for you.

This is my favorite Solitudes CD (so far). I purchased it more than fifteen years ago and still play it often. The music does not overpower the sounds of animals, streams, and campfires. I recommend it highly.
