4.0 out of 5 stars almost there, April 23, 2002

I am excited to buy this CD to get the music of Lisa Gerrard and Pieter Bourke - the real musical stars of this film - for their excellent, emotional and heavily memorable score. However I am sorry that the Serif Keita track "Tomorrow" - which is easily the most pivitol musical scene in the film, was not included on this collection and was rather fed to the "less carings" on the "STAR" soundtrack #1. I would have loved to have its compliment here, where all the other emotional tracks have been comiled. But otherwise I am glad to see thios music worthy of its own release... because it IS. This is the real soundtrack to the film, ya'll. Don't miss it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ali Score, March 12, 2002

This is the soundtrack that should have been released instead of the first CD. Although at least you don't have to put up with any R. Kelly tracks this time. As a bonus you get Lisa Gerrard and Pieter Bourke's excellent score, the only downside is you don't get the track See The Sun featured on the first release. A definite purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Magic moments, August 4, 2005

As usual, Michael Mann proves to have very good taste when it comes to the soundtrack for his movies. Forget about the 1st ALI CD that was released, this one is the real soundtrack for the movie. I agree that I really miss Salif Keita's "Tomorrow" but the other song featured here measures up to it. NOW YOU MUST LISTEN TO THE FIRST TRACK CAREFULLY. This piece of music is heard during the first fight in the movie, and though this is a shorter version on the CD, it is a genuine gem. The drums are totally mad and make you wonder how many hands the drummer had. Also when the bass guitar comes in, followed by the Hammond organ, it simply drives me mad to the point I sometimes listen to this track up to 10 times in a row when I drive to work.
