3.0 out of 5 stars Not as intellectually engaging as I had hoped August 21, 2005
Format:Paperback
When I first heard about this book, I was more than thrilled. Finally! A book that addresses the complicated mythology of Alias in a smart, and intellectually-stimulating way. But sadly, this book proved to be disappointing.

While I did love a few of the articles in the book, I also found some of them to be a "fact dump" with little analysis. If I wanted a plot summary, I wouldn't have spent $14.95 on a book that promised analysis.

As a graduate student, I honestly hoped that "Alias Assumed: Sex, Lies and SD-6" could be useful in my research of modern television, but unfortunately, it wasn't. But if you want a fun book that might raise a few ideas you hadn't considered about your favorite show, it's well worth the read! :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining takes on the show. September 21, 2005
Format:Paperback
For anyone who loves this show, the series of essays contained in this book will be entertaining. Family relationships, a spy as role model, Alias as a model on girl friendships, the probability of the gadgets existing/working in real life, the love life of single spies ... all are explored.

You'll probably even have a few moments of "Hey, I've wondered the same thing about XYZ!" I sure did. A fun read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Alias rocks! November 24, 2006

The chapters are articles that are useful in themselves, especially in understanding the psychology and methods of terrorism, and counter-terrorism.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kevin Weisman Writes an Awesome Intro... August 21, 2005
Format:Paperback
Here's how it starts:

Hello everyone. Kevin Weisman here, aka Marshall J. Flinkman. When I was first asked to write this introduction, I have to admit I was surprised that so many articles on our little show had been amassed. As I started to read the pieces, I was taken aback by the depth of knowledge of the show that these writers have. Which brings me to the nature of the Alias fan (or fanatic, as is often the case...) You are all a learned, emotional, caring bunch. I marvel at how often I am stopped in the street for everything from a simple hug to technical support questions to new and often twisted theories on Rambaldi and The Prophesy. The Alias fan (atic) often knows more about the show than I do (and definitely more than Victor Garber does...trust me, he would be first to admit that...). So, before I go any further, I want to thank you- the Alias fan- for sending the constant love our way, for caring about the characters like you do, and for keeping us on the air with your fervent devotion!
