Shame on you Amazon,

So Amazon, you can buy the complete Alias season 1-3 set for $169 or each individual season for $52.49. Hmmm so how does the "Amazon Exclusive Alias 1-3" set save me money? ($52.49 x 3 = $157.47). C'mon Amazon it was bad enough when you started offering to let us buy an additional book with the one we wanted and still charge us full price for each book, all the while trying to make it look like you were saving us money, but now you are asking for more money to ship 3 DVD sets together than you would to ship each set individually? Maybe you should teach your pricing people how to do basic math.

One of the best!,
This review is from: Alias - The First Three Complete Seasons (Amazon.com Exclusive) (DVD)
What can I say - this is still one of the best shows on TV. Before "Lost" and "Desperate Housewives", ABC had this little Gem that they didn't know what to do with. A fantastic cross between James Bond and The DaVinci Code, Alias crosses the line between could happen and unrealistic in a way that is not only enjoyable, but addictive. Out of the three seasons, Season 2, with its family of disfunctional spys, is the best, while season 3 is the most uneven. However, all 3 seasons are worth watching over and over again, and thankfully, if Jennifer Garner decides to pursue a movie career, we'll still be able to enjoy this classic show.

Pleasing Little Addiction,

When Sydney reveals to her fiancee that she really works for a covert branch of the CIA, her life changes for ever. After Danny is killed, she learns that SD-6 is not a covert branch of the CIA, but an arm of an organized crime syndicate. Now she must team up with the real CIA to take them down and get the revenge she wants.
Of course, that's just the beginning. There are family secrets, an unavoidable attraction to her CIA handler, lies to her friends, and more missions then anyone should be able to handle. I got hooked with the first season of this show, and haven't been able to stop watching since. Granted, I think the show lost something part way through season 2 it still hasn't recaptured, but it's highly addiction fun. Realistic? Not on your life! I'll be the first to admit its flaws. But I'm watching to be entertained, and this show does that in spades. With multiple plot lines and character interactions each episode, you need to watch it more then once to remember all that happened. The first season was the best, with top notch suspense, great cliffhangers, and well juggled multiple plot lines. My disappointment with the first half of season 2 was the lack of great cliffhangers. The second half began to loose its way, but it was still great. Season 3 was uneven and dark. While my least favorite, it's still good entertainment. Of course, the series is helped along by fine writing and acting. The cast has been up for awards numerous times, all well deserved. And the costumes, gadgets, and missions and fun all by themselves. These discs are great for collectors. Shown in wide screen and full surround, they're better then broadcast. Each set includes audio commentaries, documentaries, and other fun extras that help you go behind the scenes. Honestly, I had obsessively taped every episode, but quit this year when I realized I didn't need to because of the DVD's. WARNING: Do not start this series if you don't have time to watch it all. It will suck you in and not let you get anything else done. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to catch Sydney's latest adventure.

Although I never watched Alias when it first began, I've now found myself sucked into a world of entertainment that I'm definately enjoying. I bought the first season since I was drawn by the hype, but then immediately bought the next two seasons...without regret! The package deal of all three seasons is a more economical choice than I made! There's something for everyone here....a heartwrenching love story, McGyver-like techy twists, a lot of James Bond action, and the kind of psychological drama that entertain intelligent viewers. For those who don't want to think, perhaps this show might be boring....but for those of us who miss shows like the X-files, this hits the spot! I'm actually viewing and taping the 4th season and eagerly awaiting it on DVD (with all the extras I relish!).

I received the first 3 seasons on DVD as a gift this past saturday...and let me tell you, I have not been able to put it down! I've only managed to watch up to the 5th disc (there are 6 total) in the first season, but I'm addicted beyond belief. The plot is really good. You would've never imagined it or even remotely thought of it. The relationships of the main characters are also very animated, not dull for one moment, which helps keep me at the edge of my seat. I recommend this series to anyone and everyone!!!

As stated by another reviewer, don't get this series unless you are willing to spend plenty of time watching it. You will be "addicted" to it. And you will continue watching the next show because each episode leaves you hanging! My wife and I rented season one from Blockbuster and returned every night to get the next disk, and the next as soon as we finished one set. We had an "Aliasthon" and finished all three seasons in 2 weeks. My boys purchased seasons 1, 2, and 3 for my birthday and now they are watching the series themselves. It is a great sci-fi show that my wife and I look forward to watching weekly. Having all 3 seasons enables us to go over the shows again slowly. We covered so much in 2 weeks that we can now take our time watching each episode and catch the minor details and nuances. Of course, having the series also enables each of us to watch our favorite episodes again and again. I will purchase season 4 when it comes out.

Fantastic, Addictive TV,

I was drawn into the world of Sydney Bristow beginning with the very first episode of season 1. My first impression was, "This is on TV? It's like a high-quality movie!" I was enthralled with the intricate twist and turns in the plot and the dramatic storyline.
Ever since that first episode, I have watched nearly every episode and have loved every single one. Sure, there are some that are better than others, but I would recommend this television series to anyone who loves spy-kickin' action and great acting. I borrowed the complete seasons 1-2 from a friend a while back and got all my roomates hooked! Now, I own the complete set and we're planning to watch all three seasons in preparation for the 4th season, starting January 5. Seriously, this is a great set to own for both fans of the show, and those new to the series. The storyline advances so quickly that if you miss one episode, it's just not the same. You can still understand what's happening, but the richness of character development and the sub-plots with the supporting cast aren't as endearing. Knowing what happened in the previous episode is a must to fully enjoy Alias. Five stars for J.J. Abrams, Jennifer Garner, Victor Garber, and Michael Vartan -- I love it!

A Kid's Review

I still think that Walmart had a much better price by buying them seperate, but wekk /borders is just really expensive if you want the truth and they should lower thier prices because then maybe more people would buy things from thier store and I really don't care if you post this on your website or not. This is just for you to know.
