Here's the scoop on this great soundtrack!!!, November 19, 2003
The music on this CD is the original music produced by Michael Giacchino that can be heard on the ALIAS TV show. It is not the other songs featured on the show that are by other artists. So, in essence, it's the score for the show, not the soundtrack (which is a good thing). The show itself being a cross of science fiction and a 007 style movie, the music follows suit. It's an excellent cross of Don Davis's (Matrix) techno style and David Arnold's (The World is Not Enough, Tomorrown Never Dies, Die Anohter Day) spy music styling. If you want samples, watch the show (ABC at 9), or go to Michael Giacchino's web site at www.michaelgiacchino.com Some of the samples featured on that site appear in long form on the CD, which has 25 tracks on it, all from the first season. The track list is: 1. Main Title (Alias Theme, TV cut) 2. Dissolved 3. Red Hair Is Better 4. Spanish Heist 5. Double Life 6. Tunisia 7. In the Garden 8. Looking For A Man 9. Anna Shows Up 10. Home Movies 11. On To Paris 12. Page 47 13. The Prophecy 14. Badenweiler 15. Arvin At The Poles 16. Sleeping Beauty 17. Bow'd Up 18. It's Not The CIA 19. Oh My God!!!! 20. The Tooth Doctor 21. It Was Anna 22. Wet Suits 23. Ball Buster 24. The End? 25. Bristow & Bristow 26. SD-6 Dance Party Lenth: 1 hour, 5 minutes, 8 seconds This CD has been much awaited by Alias fans. Definately a must buy for fans of Alias or for movie score collectors!

Absolutely fantastic music!, April 25, 2004
The "Alias" soundtrack is as hot as the show itself! Sleek tracks filled with rumbling bass, techno sound effects, and a driving beat make this one of the best albums around. While it doesn't contain any of the popular music Alias is known for, the score alone is worth the price. Energetic, exciting music just as great as the show!

Perfect soundtrack to a nearly perfect TV show, March 16, 2005
If Henry Mancini and Ferry Corsten collaborated on a TV soundtrack for a spy drama set in the 21st Century, the results couldn't be any better than Michael Giacchino's work on this CD. Giacchino can compose for an orchestra like the best of them, but he's also savvy enough to add a contemporary edge with multiple nods to electronica. Synth pads and drum loops are phased through various low-pass and comb filters on several selections here, resulting in a delicious, chewy-sounding percussive effect. Other reviewers have commented on this being a great exercise CD; I agree and would also add that this is a great CD for driving or browsing through glossy photo magazines.
My favorite pieces on the CD are "SD-6 Dance Party," "Red Hair is Better," and "Spanish Heist." I've no idea who the guitarist is on the latter two cuts, but he's quite good!
I recommend this first and foremost to anyone who fears that soundtracks are a dead medium; Giacchino's a challenging composer and takes some real risks. Alias fans will snatch this up (although it doesn't include any soundbites from the TV series), as will anyone willing to play both techno and retro lounge on their CD players. Completists may not be happy with this CD as none of the popular music heard in the show is reproduced here, nor is the torch song Jennifer Garner sang in one episode. But that's what future installments of Alias soundtrack CDs are for!
