I totally agree that this should be a season set instead of a Best Of. But I post at Sitcoms Online, where the voting for the episodes for the disc took place, and apparently Warner Bros. is unsure if season sets of Alice would sell well or not. So they decided to test the waters by releasing a TV Favorites collection with 6 episodes. If it meets their expectations, they will for certain release seaon sets, but if it doesn't sell well then there is basically no chance.

I understand it's absolutely ridiculous for us to have to buy a Best Of release in order to get season sets, but doing so for Alice would be worth it. That's why I encourage ALL Alice fans to please buy this DVD and not boycott it because it's only a Best of release. This DVD can make or break it's chance for season sets. We have to make this disc a success.

I have heard that if this compilation disc doesn't sell enough copies, there will be no season 1 release. Where is the logic in this? People want a complete first season of a show they like on dvd, not a small number of random episodes. I know a first season set of Alice would sell many more units than a compilation. I tend to ignore the Televisions favorites discs altogether, and usually see them in bargain bins at stores because they simply don't sell. If this is the new standard of judging what gets released on dvd, then the market for tv on dvd will wither and die. We need more classic shows on dvd released, and it seems studios are already starting to pull the plug on 1st season releases. 5 stars for Alice, 0 stars for the lame television favorites releases.

i was happy to find this dvd was available, enjoyed every minute of it, wish it were more....would be very anxious to purchase more "alice" dvds if they are produced....

the entire cast is just so lovable, from the owner of the diner, strait thru to the patrons of the diner, absolutely worth buying this dvd since it is all that is available to us at this time.

These six shows are not enough. Please release the full nine years.

Come on now!! Why 'TEASE' the people that are fans? We have some 'real' fans that would love to see ALL of the episodes!! There are all sorts of TV series that are out that people really dont care to see and they seemed to have made it on the shelf! This is bizarre!!-SERIOUSLY!! Please put out Alice! MORE ALICE PLEASE!

I am excited that the "Alice: Best of" is coming to DVD...but I agree...come on Warner Brothers...spend a little money on promotion and release the whole seasons on DVD. A little promotion would remind everyone how great of a show it was and people would buy it. Even Doogie Howser M.D. is out on DVD!!! Give me a break! We need ALICE!

I'll buy it because that's all there is - but it's very disappointing. Come on Warner's - release the whole first season!!

I LOVE THIS SHOW! I USED TO WATCH "ALICE" EVERY SUNDAY NIGHT WHEN I WAS LITTLE. FLO WAS MY FAVORITE CHARACTER BECAUSE SHE WAS SO FUNNY AND OUTRAGOUS. I ALSO LOVED ALL THE OTHER CHARACTERS, INCLUDING ALICE, MEL, VERA, BELLE, JOLENE, TOMMY, AND ALL THE REST. PLEASE PUT ALL THE SEASONS ON DVD!!!! THERE ARE MILLIONS OF FANS THAT WILL BUY IT!!!! ALSO WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE RARELY-SEEN SPINOFF "FLO" STARING POLLY HOLLIDAY.

On Amazon.com $ 27.99 for Season One. $ 1.99 for each episode if you plan on downloading them here on the site. There on Instant Video here on the site both series. "Also avaiable is "FLO's" Yellow Rose Season's One- Two. Season One is $ 5.99 and Season Two is $ 27.99.$ 1.99 for each downloaded episode as well. I did the bottom review over 5 yrs ago and finally both of these series are finally out to buy it's about TIME !
I want to comment I purchashed this video from Borders Book's and Music 5 YRS ago. I also want to comment that I am "HIGHLY" disapointed that Warner Home Video hasn't put the "Alice Box series" out on the market for public purchashing as of yet. Instead they give us fans of this show a brief preview of what we already remembered of this show back from the 1970's - 1980's.

I watched both these series for the entire Run and "LOVED" it very much and want to purchase it but no release date has been offered as of yet."It would be a great box DVD Set too. It makes me very angry that shows such of this caliber don't get released but silly shows that I never heard of are on the market for sale. Im a 40 yr old man now 45 yrs old 5 yrs later and shows back in the 1970's - 1980's are the shows I adored and grew up with so I ask you to put the show's out for release people would buy them you just have to give things a chance instead of assuming they won't make money. TV viewer's like me alike would agree im sure. Two other show's that come to mind that haven't been put out for release are "Maude" and "One Day at a Time". These show's were very classy and would be a great hit on the market and would be bought up like HOTCAKES.

I know I would partake in the receipts of copies of these two show's plus I could name others like Eight is Enough just to mention one more. From a very devoted TV viewer from the 70's- 80's. Get with it would ya and put out what people want to see and collect.

These are the real thing not fake boot copies. You can watch the episodes before you buy the series or the episode itself. There for sale here on the site as Instant video's either by one episode at a time or buy the entire series collection. It's better than nothing at all. Another series i'm SAD that's not out is Brothers a 1980's comdedy i'm a huge fan of that show. I've been downloading them at You Tube.com and hoping that the series will finally be released but I'm not holding my breath on that one either.

I can't believe that Alice is being sold this way instead of just having Season 1 for sale (I actually wish it were all the seasons!). This is a show that had great ratings, lots of rerun airtime through the years, and was also written by the same team who wrote "I Love Lucy"...need I say more? Please give Alice's fans what they want to buy, not what you want to sell. Selling a compilation is an outrageous way to do business.
