This review is from: Alice in Wonderland (Hardcover)
I collect Alice in Wonderland. I have dozens of editions including a great variety of illustrators and adaptions for children of different ages. I would say that this adaption is suitable for children 8-10 years of age. The highlight of this edition, however, are the bright, cheerful illustrations appearing on every page. Truly delightful and well worth the price.

Book Review for Alice and Wonderland,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Alice in Wonderland (Hardcover)
If you are looking for a good, funny, book I know were you can get one. Alice in Wonderland is a wonderful book, and at least on every page there is something that will make you laugh out loud.
Alice is a girl that finds a rabbit hole and she happens to go down it. Now, it's not every day that you find a rabbit hole and you go down. The author is named Lewis Carroll, you probably know who he is, he has written a lot of poems and books. Mr. Carroll has a very, very good sense of humor. Alice talks to herself a lot, she punishes herself too. When ever she is pondering something she figues it out by talking to herself. The whole book is about her chasing the rabbit she sees go down the rabbit-hole. She is very stubborn, and she won't always do what you tell her to do. For example: her sister tells her to stay were she is when she is reading her book, and she goes off chasing the rabbit. Alice and Wonderland is a grate book and I greatly recommend it. E.D.

Age 6 to 10,
By Savio vaz "Savaz" (Mumbai, India) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Alice in Wonderland (Hardcover)
A book to be cherished by a child of age 6 through 10 Alice in wonderland tells the story of Alice and her adventures in an unusual land called Wonderland. There have been various cartoons and movies based on the book. They too are enjoyable but if your child is in the reading habit then this book is surely for them. There's no excuse for not reading the book. Gift this to your child and they will not be disappointed.

Be aware - this is an adapted version! I was not aware of it when I bought the item - it does not say so clearly anywhere in the book description, only in the reviews. "Through the looking Glass And What Alice Found There" that it is paired with is not an adapted version, though

Alice in Wonderland -- a merry travel through the imagination.,

This review is from: Alice in Wonderland (Hardcover)
Alice in Wonderland - a merry travel through the imagination. Alice in Wonderland is a very creative book about a girl and her sister in a park. Her sister exists only in the beginning and ending of the book, for Alice chases a white rabbit down his hole and then is introduced to a whole new world where she can grow and shrink as much as she likes. Alice meets up with many interesting creatures through out the book, including the Duchess who nurses a pig and finds morals for everything. Alice has a tea party with the March Hare, Mad Hatter and a Door Mouse, who sleeps as often as he can. She meets up with the Cheshire cat who helps her along the way by informing her that if you don't know where you want to go then it really doesn't matter which way you go. Alice also has a very exciting game of croquet with the Queen of Hearts, who throughout the whole game orders almost everyone's head off. At the end of the book Alice wakes up and finds that it was all a dream - a pleasant exciting dream.

I got really disappointed when I received the book. I was looking for the original Lewis Carrol Book and this one was an adaptation for Children.
I feel truly decieved with Amazon.

This should not be your first introduction to Alice,

An occasional review will focus on this point. Alice in Wonderland is no more children's book than, "The Lord of the Rings".
The reason this five star book gets less stars occasionally is not because of its contents or purpose; it is because of either being mistaken for a kids book, in which case one wonders why it is forced on kids, or it is so dated that even the reader thinks it is gobbledygook. You will find the book full of references to items of the time and play on words of the time. If you fall into either of these categories then you need to first purchase "The Annotated Alice: The Definitive Edition"; this will clear this understandable confusion. Be aware that every sentience is a play on words for a jab at the culture of that time. I will not go through the story, as that is why you are buying this book. However I will say that it is a classic and should be part of everyone's cultural education. When you make it through this book and enjoy it the next challenge should be "Alice's Abenteuer Im Wunderland" German Translation. If you are also interested in sci-fi then try to get a copy of "Mimsy Were the Borogoves" by Henry Kuttner. Best of Henry Kuttner "Mimsy Were the Borogoves"

Alice in Wonderland,

Well the book has all the text, and some of the pictures I remember. But the type is very small, and the introduction very long. It will do, but I really wanted one like the Alice I enjoyed as a child.

Alice in Sillyland,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Alice in Wonderland (Hardcover)
Alice in Wonderland is about a girl that falls in a hole and goes into this magical world. I think "Alice in Wonderland" is an OK book for my age if you like fantasy books. You may not like it because nothing makes sense. For example, they have a trial where the witnesses don't know about the crime and the Judge says to the jurors, "That's important!" but the Rabbit corrects him. I think it would have been a better book if I was 7 and my mom was reading it to me right before bed. The only problem with that is that younger kids might not understand much of the vocabulary but they might still enjoy it if you explain the words to them. If you're an adult and want a good book for your 5, 6 or 7 year old, I recommend Alice in Wonderland.
