About the Author

Lewis Carroll (1832-98) was born Charles Dodgson. He studied Mathematics at Christ Church, Oxford, and became a teacher at the college in 1855. At Christ Church he met Alice Liddell, daughter of the college dean. On a boating trip, Dodgson told Alice and her sisters his story about Wonderland, which he later wrote down at Alice's request. The story was published in 1865. Jane Fior was educated in England and abroad. She specializes in writing children's picture books. She has also retold Pinocchio in the Young Classics series. Greg Becker has an MA in Illustration from the Royal College of Art, London. His magical, atmospheric illustrations appeal to both adults and children. He lives in London with his wife and two daughters.
