Alice Restaurant is still one of greatest anti war "songs" ever. The new material is fresh and fun. The presentation (even though it's probably been performed hundreds or more times ) makes it feel new and current. Thank you Arlo (and don't retire)

I love the old 60's music. This song is so far out in left field that it makes me laugh and I can always use a good laugh

It's a classic, and deserves that title.

Arlo Guthrie is an excellent, if quirky, musician. This album/CD won't appeal to everyone, but give it a try. You might be surprised...

The song itself is an all-timer, a classic 1960s folk ramble, and if you don't love it, then you should go sit on the bench with the father rapers. The rest of it is fun and quite worthy of a listen, but ol' Arlo never really hit the same vein of gold as he did with Alice's Restaurant. But then, very few artists have ever reached that pinnacle.

A Thanksgiving Tradition in my house nearly forever.
The original version with this new version and his Farm aid performance on DVD played throughout the day And finally The Last Waltz. Happy Thanksgiving that couldn't be beat.

I had forgotten all about this song, until a friend of my son mentioned it. I downloaded it to my laptop one cold, snowy day and spent the morning listening to it while making cookies. It is a version recorded about thirty years after the incident, so there are some more up to date comments included which made this late fifties listener laugh.
