About the Author

Julianne Reyer writes erotica and romantic genre fiction in her spare time, when she can shrug off the chains of her corporate job. She discovered erotica many years ago, after devouring Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles and then stumbling upon the, much naughtier, Sleeping Beauty books. Since then, her love of kinky fairy tales and paranormal romance has only deepened. Her writing is also influenced by her interests in LGBTQ fiction, sci-fi/fantasy, and retro pulp stories. She lives with her closest friend (who happens to be her husband), and some very peculiar pets.

For the sake of clarity, Julianne Reyer's Alice's Steamy Wonderland is not really an erotic book in the traditional sense, even though it does include erotic scenarios, some of which are fairly kinky. Basically it is a novella in the steam punk genre that takes wide-ranging artistic liberties with the Lewis Carroll classics. While the originals were somewhat surreal, this book takes that quality to a whole new level.

Alice is a little older in this tale, on the verge of becoming betrothed to an older man for whom she has no passion. The bizarre journey that she embarks on after venturing down the rabbit hole as much as anything seems to be a lurid dream in which she wrestles with the prospect of a safe and loveless future. The writing is first rate and the characters are all well conceived, some even a bit quirky. Overall, I found this to be an interesting read but not something I'd pick up for erotic stimulation.

To get this out of the way - yes I am friends with the author. She, however, did not approach me or request a review. I bought, read, and completely enjoyed this title of my own volition.

This fascinating mishmash of Victorian morality and sexual identity alongside entertainingly quaint technology runs wonderfully alongside a naughty take on the classic tale. The language use is spot on, immersive, and most importantly, fun to read.

What might at first appear to simply be a cheeky take on an old favorite actually has quite a bit of depth under the hood. From the beginning, we know that Alice is going to discover a lot - a whole, whole lot - about her sexuality and identity on this trip down the rabbit hole. Her journey of self discovery is thoughtfully produced, convincing, and often rather touching.

The other side of this novel, the steamy side, is very steamy indeed. A number of very hot, and lively-written sex scenes are well balanced, and advance the story of Alice's self discovery.

One thing to note - Julianne has chosen to excerpt a 'vine experience' which I think does a great job of showing off the vitality and excitement of the writing. However, if you're turned off by the weirdness of the scene, rest assured that although there is plenty of novelty within these "covers" there's also a lot of good-old-fashioned heat as well.

Highly recommend this book to anyone interested in steampunk, hot-and-fun sex, and anyone looking for a fresh take on a classic story.

This story is a steampunk erotica take on Alice In Wonderland, and the authors outdid themselves on every page. It's a sexy, romping, fun story that still maintains the voice and flavor of the original, and I've recommended it to about twenty people since I finished it a few days ago.

I bought this book as an experiment, because I normally have zero interest in the steampunk genre, and I was surprised at how interesting, sweet, hot, and sometimes laugh-out-loud funny it turned out to be. I'll be buying more books from this author.

A story about growing up and finding out who you are. Alice is engaged to a man named Ben whom she doesn't know. She falls through the rabbit hole and ends up experiencing sex and drugs. I expected her to learn about Ben but he's never mentioned until the end and she has learned nothing in my view as she accepts a creature who appears to be part of her drug delusions and never tries to find out who Ben really is. So in my opinion she never grew up as she is now selfish and self centered.

I've read a few of her books and some are great and some are just ok. I felt like there was too much going on in this book for me to stay focused. I compare it to being in a large, noisy room filled to max capacity and I'm trying to listen to someone tell me a very detailed story.
