About the Author
Steven is the author of the best-selling children's book, Alice and Greta: A Tale of Two Witches (Charlesbridge, 1997). He was inspired to write the story while playing with his children on a hill behind his home. In an interview on "The Today Show," Steven said that he felt a "spontaneous combustion" as the story took shape in his mind. He visits schools and reads his stories to many classrooms full of eager listeners.
Steven is also the author of Jasper: The Fish Who Saved A Marriage (Charlesbridge, 1998) and Percy to the Rescue (Charlesbridge, 1998). In addition to his successful children's stories, he has also written The Fairness Doctrine and the Media (University of California Press).

Cyd has illustrated many children's books, including the best-selling Alice and Greta: A Tale of Two Witches, written by Steven J. Simmons (Charlesbridge, 1997), I Love You, Stinky Face, written by Lisa McCourt (Bridgewater, 1997), I Love You Bunny Rabbit, written by Shulamith Levy Oppenheim (Boyds Mills Press, 1995) and A Frog Inside My Hat, written by Faye Robinson (Bridgewater, 1993).
Cyd grew up in Georgia and received her B.F.A. from the University of Georgia. She now resides in Michigan with her two sons.
