So much hate for the ex Miss Universe I see. Why? This is a solid pop/rock effort and Alicia is one of the biggest musical surprises of 2004. She's got a lovely voice, think María Conchita Alonso meets Lisa Marie Presley. The best track on this album has to be EL PAÍS DE LAS MARAVILLAS. I can not begin to tell you how many times I listen to this song! It should have been the first single. Really give her a chance. Some great songs. I hope to God she records a follow up.

I picked up this cd after hearing her song "Pais de las Maravillas" and hearing a similar voice to one of my all-time favorite singers Maria Conchita Alonso. I was surprised with this cd, didn't expect her to have such a nice voice for Rock/Ballads. I also liked the songs "Como decirte que No" and "Soy la Otra". I wish people would stop judging Alicia for her personal life and judge her on her talent. We can't deny, she's beautiful and talented. I always liked and admired her honesty, beauty and way of being and will support her future plans, like a true fan.

I liked every song on it...I bought MDO / Greatest Hits, Juanes / un dia normal, and Mana / Donde Jugaran Los Ninos...This CD is right up there with them...Alicia has a great voice, mixed with well done medium range rock makes this a great CD...If she makes any more CD's, I will defiantly buy them all...

Recientemente tuve la oportunidad de trabajar con ella en su visita a Puerto Rico y llego el cd a mis manos (bueno literlamente casi se lo quite) para escuchar el corte que se iba a pomocionar. Tengo que decir que me lleve una grata sorpresa.

No son muchos los discos de artistas nuevos que realmente me impresionan y he trabajado con bastantes, pero este trabajo está fenomenal. Si te gusta el pop-rock estilo Alejandra Guzman, Enrique Iglesias y Ednita Nazario tienes que conseguir este cd.

Las primeras dos canciones son mis favoritas...ah! y ella es también compositora en el segundo tema.

La chica tambien es compositora en el segundo tema y creo que este junto al primero son los mejores del cd. Un trabajo que se nota honesto y lleno de energía. Excelente produccion y arreglos musicales modernos.

A couple of nice songs, nothing original or innovative, just plain old formula pop rock, but a million times better than Dayanara Torres (Miss Universe 1993) musical effort. Alicia's voice is weak, but it works with the songs. Best track: "El País de las Maravillas". Definitely, a good release for an ex beauty queen, hopefully she'll get better with time, she has the potential.

Once I saw Alicia coming down at the "Poliedro" during the Miss Venezuela Contest in 1996, I thought she should win the pageant and become Miss Universe also ... and she did it ... Her stage presence and her charm made her the one to beat at Miss Universe 1996 ... and no one could beat her ...

Then came her incursions in soap-opera's in her home-country and abroad ... and she didn't impress me that much during that time of her career ... when I heard she was coming with an album, I said "another beauty queen trying to be a singer" ... but what a surprise to hear her sing ...

Her debut album, entitled only Alicia Machado, shows her in a different style ... as accustomed to see from her ... The CD only has 10 songs, but they are definitely great to hear ... Her first single from the album, "Como Decirte que No" is done very well, and her voice adds to the song ... She definitely doesn't have the best voice ever, but with these songs, it sounds wonderfully ...

The album has some great songs and most definitely Alicia deserves to be listened to ... my favorite tracks besides "Como Decirte Que No" ... are "Definitivamente", "Por Que Regresas?", "Eres", "Fuiste Tú el Primero", "Yo soy la Otra" ...

Songs she should definitely use as single should be "Por Que Regresas?" and "Yo Soy la Otra" ... both very fast paced, and enjoyable songs ... and "Definitivamente" and "Eres", both songs with a romantic melody ... and she shows her emotions on these two ballads ...

The album closes with "Yo soy la Otra" ... and what a way to close her debut album ... with a great song, nice melody and very upbeat ...

Its definitely a great CD ... its worth it ... ;)

I never knew Alicia Machado sang, until one day I heard this awesome remix in a Chicago club, the song was a remix for COMO DECIRTE QUE NO. An amazing song that made me buy this CD. WOW this CD rocks, every song is excellent and she actually sings pretty well. I highly reccommend this CD. I think you will be pleasently surprised to hear these songs. Try it, you'll love it! I hope she makes another one soon.

Siempre supe que el exito era parte de tu vida, desde la epoca de la calicantina eso se veia venir, por fin llegaste a la musica, lo que revela tu evolucion espiritual, tu crecimiento como ser humano. Estar cerca y lejos de ti en esos tiempos me hace recordarte como esa muchacha audaz e intensa que aun eres... eres la misma, eres autentica y eso vale mucho.
Demas esta decir que esta produccion musical es excelente, en la musica y en las liricas, verte en vivo con esa super banda que te acompaña de seguro sera una grata experiencia..ven pronto a venezuela...ven pronto a maracay..donde los viejos tiempos son inborrables.

I like a couple of tunes from this album. But in reality Mrs. Machado needs to work on her reputation and learn to keep her legs crossed, specially when engaged.
