5.0 out of 5 stars Best game for NES, October 19, 2001

This review is from: Alien 3 (Video Game)
This is the best game you can buy for the NES. It features an excellent environment to blast you way through. The aliens are everywhere and you must rescue prisoners in the allotted time and beat the level. It doesn't have James Horners excellent score, but it still has good music to match the environment.

This review is from: Alien 3 (Video Game)
before i bought this game i did watch video reviews over the game and seen how terribly flawed it was, but i really enjoy playing through this game. So far i only got to level 4 before losing all my lives. (up to 9 in configuration menu.) The game does have its fails, such as the B button is jumping, time limit is a stretch and need every second, very slow elevators reaching multiple floors, aliens come out of nowhere and hurt you. This is because the character doesn't stay centered on screen, your character can only run and almost outruns the screen, and you get about 2/3 across the screen before you get attacked by an alien, you don't have time to react! This game is all just trial and error.

I wonder how come no one mentions the music in the game composed by Jeroen Tel. It sounds really good for a nes! Its fast paced and goes very well with the alien theme. You can even listen to all the music in the game in the configuration menu. Next to Sunsoft, LJN games have some cool music (alien 3, wolverine, pictionary, and yes even Friday the 13th has some moody music).
Although terrible controls and bad game design ruin most of them for some people...although Probe software did make some good games and some bad.
