5.0 out of 5 stars Mom & Dad might not love it, but the kids will!
It's beyond the construction skills of my 6-year-old, so I wound up stuck with a 3 1/2 hour building job. Pros: my son in love! In addition to the usual imaginative play block playsets provide, it offers play clay and forms for sculpting aliens and two removable tanks w/ food dye for colored water fun. It seems very sturdy and looks to have long-term play value. Cons:...

3.0 out of 5 stars A Waste of Time and Money
It will will take you 3.5 hours to put this thing together. The universal "picture book" instructions for assembly could use improvement. Mine were blurry and hard to understand, especially when trying to decipher the shape/differences of smaller parts. Speaking of parts, there are too many. The wall panels could be wider. I hadn't planned on introducing him to conspiracy theories just yet. :/

4.0 out of 5 stars Aliens among Christmas Holiday, December 27, 2008
A Kid's Review

My son and I came across this set digging into the internet after being pleased with several other Mega Bloks sets(most notably Spiderman). My son (5 years old) has shown much interest in alien and space toys.

I bought it this 2008 Christmas Holiday at a heavily discounted rate. It does take about 3 hours to assemble, but my son is in love with the toy and it is rather sturdy and well designed.

We did have to head to the toy store to purchase Play Doh as the aged and included clay had long expired. Once back, we were into the action playing as scientist and government agents. Dissecting our aliens and acting out conspiracy theories was rather fun. This is such a hit, that we hit the web looking for related sets. I highly recommend if you can locate this set. It is rather large as well.

My 6 year old thought that this toy was great! He was able to put it together following the instructions with only minimal help with the very smallest of the stickers.

Kids love aliens and little tiny men to move around, not to mention building.

What a great toy!

The block holes are not deep enough in some areas to ensure a secure fit. The base panels I had were slightly warped. My 6 year old played with this for 5 minutes and it collapsed. The only positive side is the accessories that come with it. My son likes all the figures and aliens that came with it, thus distracting him long enough for me to get rid of the outside wall panels and at least salvage the inner lab. I don't want to try to construct this again and don't plan to buy anymore products from Mega Blocks with this many pieces.
