This review is from: Alien Child (Paperback)
This is one of several books that I read as a child and remembered for years after. I am glad to have found it again.
The plot is unusual, with several startling twists and revelations. Even though it was written for young adults, this book is well worth reading, no matter your age! I don't want to give anything away, but essentially, a young woman has been raised by an alien on a deserted Earth. Her guardian cannot answer her many questions and so she lives frustrated and lonely. But then she discovers they are not alone, after all...

This review is from: Alien Child (Paperback)
I read this a long time ago in middle school. It's a unique tale set in what is apparently a post-apocalyptic Earth, since the child mentioned in the title of this book is the only one of her kind. She is raised by an alien, and has never met anyone else, and her education is given to her via the alien and by the computers in the place she is living in. This is by no means an adult book, and was written for the 'Young Adult' audience. I remember enjoying it. The girl doesn't spend her whole existence alone - this book has a couple of pretty cool surprises that keep it interesting - though perhaps if you're a sci-fi buff, you might not find later events so surprising. Overall, a decent four out of five stars for a fun YA sci-fi book.
