5.0 out of 5 stars Great Reading -- Alien Encounters: The Deception Menace, August 5, 2004
This review is from: Alien Encounters: The Deception Menace (Hardcover)
Very interesting, containing many encounters and insights I had not heard or seen before. I am a skeptic, but James Thompson's book gives me something to think about. If people really are having encounters, it's not as innocuous as I thought before.

5.0 out of 5 stars Aliens, April 17, 2011
Mr. Thompson makes a lot of great points in this book. Very structured and well thought out theories. I thought personally that it is an incredible book.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Important Offshoot of Jacques Vallee's Work., August 23, 2009
This review is from: Alien Encounters: The Deception Menace (Hardcover)
Is this book an exercise in spiritual discernment or paranoia? I would lean towards the former. The reason I am giving this book five stars are pages 146-258. The first 146 pages rely heavily on Jacques Vallee's trilogy comprised of Confrontations, Dimensions and Revelations and will be redundant if you have these important books. Page 146 forward contains some of the most shocking original thoughts on the New Age, UFO's and abductions I have come across. The author is LDS but extensive knowledge of LDS theology is not needed to understand the implications of what the author is putting forth. Also, while I like the idea of adolescents setting their own pace in choosing what types of books to read, this is definitely a book for mature individuals. We all know adolescents love to read about UFO's but if I saw a 14-year-old reading this book I would cringe. Definitely a must for your UFO library! Also check out Charles Upton's Cracks In The Great Wall: UFO's and Traditional Metaphysics.
