Product Description

From the Manufacturer

We've built a whole new game. This version of Alien Hominid has been built specifically for consoles and it shows. The backgrounds ooze with parallax. Shrapnel scatters all over the screen. The explosions are (in our opinions) the greatest hand-animated explosions to ever grace a television screen. Some of the bosses are so huge that we need to zoom out the camera to show them in their entirety (it's a cool feature, kinda like the scaling in Samurai Shodown).

We've made 16 hot levels, complete with mini-bosses and main-bosses. We've brought back all your old favorites and thrown in tons more. This game is overflowing with enemies, and they come armed to the teeth.

Have no fear, we've taken the alien's arsenal up a notch! You now have seven power-up weapons, which also upgrade your grenades (yeah, we added grenades). We added a charge shot so you can hold down your button and unleash a giant ball of destruction. You can dig into the ground for defensive measures, then reach up and pull your enemies under. Enemy riding and head biting is still intact, but you can now also flip over an enemy and carry him, or throw him in eight directions!

We even made it so the L and R buttons allow you to roll under bullets and backflip away from danger. These moves really help out in a pinch!

Heck, we even made it two-player, with the classic "press start to jump in at any time" mechanics! Twice the firepower!

Did we forget to mention vehicles? We added those too! We've got plenty of cars and trucks, in addition to tanks and other offensive vehicles. You even get to fly your UFO on several occasions!

We want what you want. We grew up loving games like Contra, Gunstar Heroes, and Metal Slug. We like our explosions big, and our bosses bigger. We think it's cool to drive bulldozers through buildings and ramp snowmobiles onto unsuspecting Soviet soldiers, so we work late hours to give you all that!

If that isn't enough, Alien Hominid also has an awesome soundtrack, with original music for every level. We added a bunch of mini-games, including over 200 levels of 1 to 4 player "PDA Games". These are single-screen platformers where the goal is to clear the enemies, avoid the traps, and get to the exit. It isn't as easy as it sounds! If our 200+ levels aren't enough for you, our level editor allows you to build your own and save them to a memory card. You can take your levels to friends' houses and watch them squirm! Don't forget to bring the gang; the mini-games are a blast with four players!

Product Description

Alien Hominid combines classic shooter action with 2D side-scrollers and great-looking, basic graphics for a seriously fun gaming experience. In this shooter, the tables are turned -- you're an alien shooting it out against and army of humans. Fight to survive by using the right weapons and your digging skills, and live to make it back it home!

5.0 out of 5 stars 10/10 Game! September 2, 2005
A Kid's Review
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
That yellow alien might be cute but he is also bloody violent, this game is one of the best i have played in ages, altough people have told me that the graphics are 'childish' who cares? it's not the graphics that matter:/

the game has great music aswel, and everything about it is great really, it's very hard but what's the point in having a game that is too easy?

overall this game gets what it deserves 5 stars!

4.0 out of 5 stars That little yellow guy rocks July 16, 2005

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Fred's Review:

8.5/10 stars

Sidescrolling short sci-fi shooter game rocks the house. You can probably beat this game in an hour and thirty minutes but I play it over and over on the different difficulties. Ever wonder how in shooter games people take like 10 bullet shots and live? Well in this game, you take one shot and your dead(unless you have a shield)

The makers seem to have something against the FBI to have them in here. 16 levels in all with mini-games for multiplayer or single player. Also includes PDA levels with a PDA level editor. Boss fights can be tough and challenging if you don't know what to do but they're not like games where you do it over and over trying to find a weakness. Some bosses are really simple because they tell you what to do. For example, one boss has a note on his body that says "DO NOT DAMAGE HEAD." 3 worlds that include city,Russia, and Area 51 will have you wanting for more everytime you play it. When I first got it, I couldn't put my hands down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dude O_O January 1, 2005
A Kid's Review
This is my favorite Gamecube game of all time. It's for both old skool and new skool gamers! It's side scrolling action throughout the whole game.

The sounds and music are so cool and go perfectly with the boss battles and levels. There are many cool things to do in it. Theres 2 player mode, mini games, huge challenging bosses, LOTS of action

~(I have beaten the game and I honestly don't think I have seen a part in it that didn't have action)

It's a bit bloody like if you slice a person they look like ham =) it's funny watching that happen. There are also many things you can do in it such as roll, backflip, jump, jump ON the people, bite their heads off, shoot them, slice them, dig underground, is that it?

And the powerups, WOW! All the gun powerups do completely different things. They can freeze, burn, melt, dissolve, blow up, shoot tons of fast tiny bullets, and they are all VERY bright and colorful and fun to watch.

Anyone who likes both old games and the newer ones should get this game!

5.0 out of 5 stars This game's gonna be great! November 22, 2004
By Armand
I simply cannot wait to get this game Gamespot has given it a 84%, while that might not be excelent, it's still very good.

Let's start with the story. You start as a little green alien who's UFO has crashed..........right on the doorstep of the FBI. Then you must blast through a bunch of 2D Old School levels battling many insane baddies. You can have like 8 or 6 different guns, can burry underground, can roll to dodge enemy fire, can jump on someone and either bite his head off or throw him in many different directions, and can drive cars, UFOs, etc.

If that's not enough, you can also team up with a friend and play CO-OP mode. Or you can team up with 4 players and play mini games.

I'm telling ya, this game is gonna be sweet.

5.0 out of 5 stars fun for new gamers and old schoolers alike December 4, 2004
for 30 dollars i don't think you'll find a more entertaining game this holiday season. It's multiplayer friendly and a blast to play. Games have taken the step into 3D which has made gaming complex and not accessible without reading a manual. In Alien Hominid, anyone can pick up a controller and play for hours. The game is refreshing and slick and is not held down by the tethers of the 3D world. After playing hours upon hours of RPG's I was in the mood to shoot the hell out of everything, slice people's bodies in half, and bite their heads off. Alien Hominid delivered.

Don't hesistate and buy the game already, you won't regret it I promise.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Game Ever(ish) November 27, 2004
By Shlomoe
I was always a huge fan of the online game, so, I couldn't wait until the console version came out, (delayed 6 times where I pre ordered it). When I finally got it, I was amazed!

non stop action

tons of mini/final bosses

co op mode

mini games

short (3 levels w/ about 5/6 stages in each)

level editor is for one of the mini games, not the actual alien homind

I have more fun playing this than I do Halo 2 (which is also really fun). A must buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and frustrating February 19, 2014

This game is so aggravating but so entertaining. Best played with two players, after a healthy does of aspirin. There's so much going on! I would not recommend this for those sensitive to motion or prone to seizures.
