Picture this. You walk into a room while a pack of murderous looters are just outside the door, ready to shoot you on site. There are two generators in this room that you have to activate, because you have to trip an emergency evacuation alarm to open the exit. But when you do this, you realize that you've also activated an android who will bash your skull open if it sees you, and attracted the attention of a vicious predator in the air vents above you. You sneak around, throwing a makeshift noisemaker to distract both your assailants, and frantically use a device to hack into the security system while they investigate the racket. Suddenly, the alarm trips. Lights flash. Everybody is aware of your presence. Frantically, you turn tail and run right into the hall full of looters. You think you're safe, that maybe they're gone. But what you didn't notice was the disgusting slime coming from a vent dead ahead. Before you know it, a Xenomorph snatches you up and everything cuts to black, all because you were too busy panicking to pay attention.

This type of experience is par for the course in "Alien: Isolation," the new survival horror game/apology for "Aliens: Colonial Marines" from Sega and Creative Assembly. There has been a lot of talk, recently, about a revival of survival horror games. But the fact of the matter is, most horror games that attempt to breathe life into the genre stumble and miss the mark way more than they succeed. They're too focused on jump scares, or letting players shoot the enemies with a huge arsenal of weapons. Even the upcoming "The Evil Within," by the prolific Shinji Mikami, looks to make concessions towards modern AAA gaming, and to not be focused on true survival and true horror.

In Space every thing is against you, the space ship that you live in, AI bots around you, the Alien, your friends and their changing priorities and every thing you see around you is a trap. Emotions like vulnerability turns into desperation, then you see the character being exposed and dissapointed. It is lot easier to just throw a bunch of strong AI bosses with low ammunition, but this game goes far beyond in creating a sense of immersion. Survival horror games are hard to design, they have nailed every aspect of it. What makes the game great is the complex web of elements that all work together to make you more and more attached.

Dont play this game like a Action adventure game. Stop, think, understand every thing is about to get you. Alien is out for its survival, same with guys you work for, the guys who are trying to kill you. The character is alone, but doesnt want to be alone.. she wants to find people to work with and live. The character development and complexities are far and beyond any game that has been released in recent years. You are as much of a killer, desperate person as the others that are trying to get rid of you.

- Great art and environment design. The game brings the 70's space station to life in every nook and corner.
- So many simple touches like needing to manually save, creates so many heart pounding moments. When you know you are just few feet away from moving on. Both Death and life are standing next you at the same time.
- Very smart AI

You may hear complaints about the game being difficult. Dont play it like an action adventure game, not even like RE4. This is not a horror or FPS game. You are not a hero.

I will never take SEGA for granted anymore. This game may have saved SEGA and put them in with the big leagues. This game is on the level of A-list games like (Kill Zone-4, The last of Us, Watch Dogs, Far Cry 4), and other heavy hitters. Well Done!

This game is money well spent! Its surprisingly very good, and complex, and its a bit hard. Brutally scary, just like the real movie. Puts my nerves on edge whenever I play, especially, when everything starts to get really dark, or the lights go out! It does require stealth skills, and lots of hiding for your life! You've got to "think" in this game, and use strategy to outwit the Alien. This game is a different kind of next-gen game, and it takes you to another place and time. The outer-space graphics and free roaming environments are most stunning and realistic, with cutting edge detail, as shown in the outer-space campaigns in games like (Kill Zone-4, Shadow Fall-2014)for PS4.
This game is hardcore-horror! Your environment is complex and complicated just like the original alien move. Basically your replaying the original alien movie but as Ripley's daughter. The Storyline is different but with ties to the original, including new plots and twists. I will say this, after you've been killed by the alien many times, you begin to develop strategy. The alien will be on (your-ass) hardcore, so you better be very quiet, and hide a lot. Explore your environment as much as possible, without getting killed by the stalking Alien. Learn your maps and use the motion tracker a lot. Save you progress every freaking chance that you get, because if you die...your going to lose a lot of hard work and effort. You must manually save your progress at (save points) in the game...you will find out. Good Luck!
