This book has samples of Barlowe's commissioned works for book covers, magazines, newpapers and other clients. It even has chapters about dinosaurs paintings he did for a book (and for fun), projects of the past and projects he is doing for the future. It also has information about his life, his tools and his methods. He explains a lot about how he does things, from what paint he uses to the use of models, from past artists he was a fan of to his love of nature.

Wayne Douglas Barlowe is one of the greatest living illustrators. This book shows some of his best work through the years. It is truly wonderful. As a sidenote, the back of the book shows preliminary art from a future project, Barlowe's Inferno. It should be noted that Barlowe's Inferno is now available and is excellent.

Truly great works by Wayne Barlowe- commissioned work and projects are all shown in this book. Once you read it, you will be taken away to land far away but when you look into the pictures, you will be taken away to new dimension!

Barlowe's creatures are really amazing. This book contains author's original pictures of the fauna of Darwin IV.
