For most of his life, Dr. Farrell has had a deep interest in physics, astronomy, space travel, and ufology and has stayed current in each. Ten years ago, he began doing serious research in the field of UFOs and ETs for his first novel, Alien Log. He believes good science fiction is soundly based on good science. To that extent, Dr. Farrell is trying to follow the style of Dan Brown (The Da Vinci Code), Michael Crichton (Andromeda Strain, Jurassic Park, and many others) and Arthur C. Clarke in his Odyssey series. In addition to his Alien Log series, he has written numerous technical papers and articles for the plastics industry and three science fiction short stories that are included in an anthology, Sonoran Mirage, published by the WriterÂs Round Table of Phoenix.
Since retiring, Dr. Farrell and his wife split their time between Arizona and Connecticut where he works on the Alien Log series. Having completed Alien Log II, he is now working on Alien Log III.

Compelling Science Fiction/Fact,

This review is from: Alien Log (Paperback)
This book was an excellent read. The Mr. Farrell is obviously expert in the science behind the story (as is demonstrated by the extensive references provided in the appendix) and has crafted a compelling and insightful compilation of current alien research into the fabric of the tale. The characters were interesting and well developed and the conflicts were believable. I think this is the author's first novel, and I hope that he provides a sequel.

I would have to say after reading the book, where's the sequel?
One of the most creative things about the work was it's ability to include just enough of the alien/UFO community's beliefs and theories along with factual evidence to support them, without drawing the reader away from the action of the story. The story was very compelling, the characters well developed and the action kept you reading.

Alien Log, a novel by Dr. Robert Farrell
Meticulously scientific, well researched novel of the case for Intelligent Life in the Universe, and particularly covering UFOs and "Aliens" and their probable origin and purpose in communicating, interacting and dealing with humankind. It is a delightful read for anyone interested at all in these compelling subjects. It also has an extensive bibliography, to help you extend your own research into these subjects. The fiction is very well handled and dialog between characters helps to enrich the novel with the science behind it. Barbara Lindquist, Publisher, Managing Editor, Morher Courage Press.
