Many books, movies, and radio programs over the years have dreamed up countless doomsday scenarios involving the destructive invasion of aliens on Earth - but what if all they really wanted to do was love us...?

In Alien Opportunities, Kurt Rellians illustrates such a scenario - and leaves the reader quite surprised in the process...

Fresh from the planet Starmanena, an inquisitive breed of alien visitors descends upon the Earth and makes a quick, lasting impact on its residents. Obviously advanced in the areas of science and technology, they are first feared as conquerors or enslavers that seek only to exploit the fruits of human labor and reap Earth's harvests for their own. The Starmanenans, though, soon prove that their true intentions are otherwise, and the human race is soon amazed at just how much easier life becomes in the wake of their arrival: instead of cruel overseers, the aliens actually create positions of more gainful - and less laborious - employment for their human counterparts; likewise, social & personal interactions are much less strained with the new visitors, and they unwittingly foster a new "sexual revolution" among earthlings, with far-ranging aftereffects on the human psyche.

Impressed with their new comrades, many humans soon begin to accept their open invitation to visit their home planet of Starmanena - under no ostensible pressure to stay, should they not enjoy their time there. After the increasing number of departures yields no return passengers, though, suspicions begin to mount among the remaining Earth brethren of the true purpose behind the aliens' visit & lingering presence...

Alien Opportunities is a very inventive, thought-provoking story with equal parts suspense and - surprisingly - erotica. Rellians explores the world of sexual inhibitions (and the throwing off of such) with abandon, but does so tastefully and as a subtext of a greater, cogent point: when allowed to visit a place infinitely more pleasing than our current circumstances - who wouldn't prefer to engage in the former on a permanent basis?

Which reflects the real essence of the novel: on its face it may appear to be a typical offering from the sci-fi realm, but Alien Opportunities is really a cleverly-cloaked commentary on the nature of human suffering, most particularly that which is self-imposed. By juxtaposing the freer, less repressed lifestyles of the Starmanenans with their relatively stifled human counterparts, Rellians invites the reader to consider taking a much-needed introspective look inside him/herself and reflect on the true costs vs. rewards of living a "buttoned-down," conventional life.

A skillfully scripted tome, Alien Opportunities provides a welcome opportunity for enlightenment - but only for the unafraid...

This book is an erotic alternative present fantasy about the impact of alien visitors on Earth's society, culture and economy. Chris lives at a time when apparentlypeaceful and friendly aliens have arrived on Earth and set up companies to trade with us. Chris, unhappy with his nine to five job, finds out the alien arrival has created new opportunities for work in alien employment. The novel follows the fortunes of Chris, raised in sexually restricted Earth as he works for the Starmanenans.
The novel is erotic, but is as much a science fiction scenario with a sociological setting. The book seeks to imagine what the alien society of Starmanena, which has very different attitudes towards sex from our own, might be like, and what might happen if it came into contact with ours. Chris comes to appreciate the aliens, but is unable to overcome various doubts about them. Are the aliens engaged upon a mission to lure the brightest and best among us to a life of slavery or even worse depravity in the stars, as many suspect? Or are the aliens benign? Are they inevitably winning because they offer what Earth society on its own could not give, i.e. sexual liberation, paternal or maternal guidance, and freedom from the commercial imperative.
I recommend this book because it is both erotic and serious. The Starmanenans seem to act as a mirror to our own society and seem to be potentially changing the worst features of Earth society for the better.
